First I want to say thank you, I loved this book! As did my bookclub! We had 3 questions...1) who gets married without having sex 1st these days - why wasn't it an issue for them or topic of their conversation? 2) what was he doing in Bangkok - sex with minors, murdering people, paying to mentally or physically torture people, or.....? 3) Who is playing them in the movie?!!!

They did have sex before they got married, when they went to the hotel after seeing their wedding venue - it's in the book. And obviously from then on, although it isn't mentioned.
In Bangkok, he wasn't having sex with anybody - Grace asks him that very question and he tells her that if that is what he wanted, he could do that anywhere. He tells Grace he goes to Bankok to ingulge his Fear fetish but, as he also tells her, he doesn't get his hands dirty. We can guesss then that he's just an observer.
Unfortunately, I have no idea who is playing them in the film, we'll have to wait I have to wait and see!

Hi! I really loved 'Behind Closed Doors' - I thought Esther offering the perfect alibi for Grace was a really unexpected twist and an excellent way of tying the story together. Did you always plan for Esther to be the final piece in the ending jigsaw?

Behind Closed Doors was the first book (after being out of high school for 15 years) that made me realize how much I love to read! So THANK YOU for allowing my mind to escape during this pandemic and continue to. (And yes I of course read your other books after this. You're one of my favorite authors now! SO do I have a question? Nope! Just a thanks for helping me get back into reading!
