Hi Charlene. I know that a wooden stake in the heart will kill a vampire. I'm just curious to if they are vulnerable to it kind of like kryptonite. Like, no matter how old/strong/durable a vampire becomes would a human always be able to injure a vampire with wood? Or could it be possible for a vampire to become tough enough so that a human couldn't pierce its skin?

Charlaine Harris That's a new question, Brandt. I believe a vampire would always be killed by a stake. There has to be a system of checks and balances, or otherwise the vampires would be invulnerable, and that's too scary for humans to accept.
