I love your books. The first book of yours I read was Virgin River, I read it in only a few hours. Do you intend your books to be quick reads? To be honest, I do read quite quickly but I was wondering about that. How long does it normally take you to write from beginning to end for just one book?

I'll say you read fast! A few hours? Wow. I read a book or so a week and I read every evening.
The time it takes depends on the story and how many ideas I have. I'll say this -- I'm a very fast typist by now but the amount of time it takes to "think" a whole book varies. These days it usually takes about four months to write a book if I'm armed with a lot of good ideas. And whether it's a fast read or slow depends entirely on the reader. I just want it to be a good, satisfying story.

When you write series like Virgin River, which have so many books, do you find it difficult avoiding repetitive patterns and giving each couple a unique story? Is it hard knowing the right balance of intermingling old characters into each new story since your fans have become so attached to them? Thank you!
