Yes, I got a lot of my inspiration for Bad Romeo/Broken Juliet from my own time at drama school and as a professional actress. I've wanted to be an actress since I was a little girl, and just like Cassie, my parents weren't thrilled about me even auditioning for drama school. I traded off with my dad that if he let me audition, I'd also apply for journalism and law.
After I found out I'd gotten accepted to drama school, I was so ecstatic, my dad didn't have the heart to tell me I couldn't go, and the rest, as they say, is history.
I've been a professional actor and singer for most of my adult life. This wonderful left turn into publishing has only happened in the past few years, and I couldn't be happier about it.

I have three heroes that hold a special place in my heart for being the ones that made me feel so much. Gideon Cross, Colton Donavan and Ethan Holt. As a writer, how do you create a character so damaged he does things that should make you hate him and instead evokes compassion? How do you find the right balance of vulnerability? Too much makes him pathetic, too little makes them unsympathetic.
