That's a very good question...I think that it's a lot more emotionally satisfying if you've read The Star-Touched Queen, but there are no continuing major plot points from The Star-Touched Queen. A Crown of Wishes is a companion, not a sequel, so it should stand alone on its own merits :) Happy Reading!
