Do you think being an author is a good career choice right of the bat. You started out as a teacher and wrote while doing that. I know thats what a lot of people do. Do you think i should start out as trying to be an author, or get a stable carrer first?

Rick Riordan Being an author is ABSOLUTELY NOT a reasonable career plan. Even most professional writers never make enough money to be a full time writer. The vast majority have other jobs. That isn't to say you shouldn't follow that dream if it is your goal, but my advice is to definitely have a secondary path that you can follow at the same time. Teaching was mine, though really I loved teaching and would have been happy to do that the rest of my life. I am lucky that my two favorite things went together so well. I learned from both of them.
