What do you do to shift gears and change the "voices in your head" when you go from one genre and/or time to another? I would imagine that going from historical Scots to modern vampires must take some kind of mental adjustment.

I find it kind of easy and natural to switch back and forth. It's kind of like...hmmm...well, okay, say you're chatting away to a friend and co-worker in a relaxed, casual manner and the phone rings. You answer and your polite business voice automatically kicks in. It's kind of like that, an automatic switch. Come to think of it, that's kind of weird isn't it? Hmm. Don't know why it happens but glad it does. LOL
