How do you get inspired to write?

Jaime Allison Parker I wrote my first short story at the age of 12. It was handwritten in a notebook from school. I grew up in the tiny rural areas of the Mississippi Delta, a bit of a loner, that was always fascinated by folklore and mythology from a young age. I spent a lot of time in the town's small library. I was quiet and bookish. I have been writing for a number of years, but never could get together an entire book. The Delta Highway was a labor of love and lasted several years before its completion. The original tale is nearly unrecognizable from the one I published.
