Hey, Shannon! I'm writing a novel and am taking your advice on making deadlines for myself, but it is stressing me out. Do you ever move you're dead lines up when you can't make them on time?

Shannon Messenger Yes, and no, because my readers don't like waiting any longer for my books than they have to (which is both awesome and HOLY PRESSURE) so if I miss too many deadlines, that can become a problem. But yes, sometimes I have to ask for an extension. The trick is to try to be balanced--stay motivated and productive, but also not end up feeling overwhelmed. (although I will say: deadlines are stressful. My schedule is very, very stressful. It's why I've had to scale back how often I answer questions and interact with my readers, how many giveaways I do, etc, because I'm trying to keep on track with all the writing I have to do, and there are only so many hours in the day)
