Hi Lynn,
You know, the romance between Talen and Cara started that series. I wanted to write this scene between a U.S. Marshal and a single mom on the run, and he kept turning into a vampire. For some odd reason, the scene just made sense as a paranormal, so FATED was born. Then the entire series started to unfold, and as part of that process, Zane showed up in Janie's dream, and then the overall arc started to seem plausible.
