Chrystelle Jean-Pierre
Chrystelle Jean-Pierre asked Lauren Oliver:

I don't know how to put this and sorry if I'm being informal but how do you do it? How do you come up with your ideas? It really is a fascination I could not put any of your books down and had to finish them as soon as possible, I know I've only read two of your books so far but I am honestly hooked especially with the mystery and the romance, so really, how do you do it?

Lauren Oliver Thank you! I get a lot of ideas from reading the newspaper. Our reality is so fascinating and weird; one of my favorite quotes about the difference between fiction and reality is that fiction has to stick to what is plausible. It is very inspiring for me. A lot of my novels begin by asking myself a question: how could I make this story into a novel? What might have happened to make the world look this way?
