What is the hardest thing about writing the Maisie Dobbs series?

Jacqueline Winspear The physical act of writing is actually quite hard on the body. Perhaps I should be one of these people who moves around a bit, or who has one of those desks that elevate, but most writers complain of back or shoulder trouble at some point. Wimps, aren't we?

What led you to be intrigued with WWI so much and the 1920-30period? was it the early inventions or a time during which your parents lived? Maybe it was another writer's book. I really enjoy your books and felt sad when her husband died so tragically. Has she got to be alone in your novels?
