Karen Cimms:
I just finished both books and loved it but I have to ask about book 2 - they were going through so much and I was happy, sad, frustrated, mad and everything but im trying to understand why the Joey tragedy? that was the saddest part of this whole book.

(view spoiler)[Hi Dg! Thank you for reading At This Moment and We All Fall Down and for your kind words. There is a lot of emotion wrapped up in this entire series, both for the reader and for me. There was never a hard outline that said I had to handle what happened with Joey the way I did. Just as I did for almost the entire series, I let the characters drive the story. Originally, it wasn't going to happen the way it did, but as I wrote and rewrote it, Joey's story evolved into what it is in the book. It might not make you feel any better, but I cried when I wrote it. I cried when I edited it. And I've cried each time since. Joey is probably the character most like me. (I love sarcasm!) One thing you will see is that he remains an important part of the story. I hope this helps a little. Thanks again. If you haven't already, you should sign up for my newsletter. I'll be sending out scenes cut from the books now and then. I'll definitely be writing a Christmas novella with Billy and Kate (and Joey) from an earlier Christmas. I might even share some recipes from the series. Go to my website at KarenCimms.com; or my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/KarenCimms/ to sign up for the newsletter. Thanks again for reaching out! Karen (hide spoiler)]
