Will there be another book added to the Blue Heron series?

Kristan Higgins Not in the foreseeable future. I'm so glad you liked the series enough to want one, but it feels so complete to me that it would feel a little fake to tack on a few more books. You know... like, "Oh, look! Here's a firehouse full of single men with rippling abs that I forgot to mention in the past five books!" I always hate that in a series. "Meanwhile, in another part of town that I just made up..."

I think sometimes what readers (myself included) want is to simply know that the characters are happy and fulfilled. Robyn Carr's Virgin River series leaps to mind... we get to spend a lot of time with those folks, see the kids start to grow up, and the like. But when Robyn is asked to write more VR books, she says, "You really want a photo album, not another story."

So I can assure you, everyone lives happily ever after. Yeah, baby!
