Anna
Anna asked Josh Lanyon:

The blurb for collected novels says the "dark horse" was your first foray in m/m fiction. Have you written in other genres, and was the writing under a different name? Also, I am reading "so this is Christmas" which is listed as Adrien English #7, yet I can't find a #6.... am I crazy, or dense?

Josh Lanyon I differentiate between gay romance and m/m fiction, so I guess the answer to that depends on who you ask. I consider Fatal Shadows, A Dangerous Thing, Murder in Pastel and The Hell You Say all gay romance (well, really gay mystery more so than romance). THEN I wrote The Dark Horse, which I consider to be more male/male fiction (the story is mostly about the romance despite the mystery trappings).

So The Dark Horse was written well into my writing career, but it was the first thing I wrote after learning there was such a thing, an actual sub-genre, called M/M Romance.

As for other writings, yes. I began my publishing career with poetry when I was 16. :-) I wrote a Harlequin romance after college. In 2002 I sold a mystery series to Pocket and then in 2008 another series to Penguin.

As far as the AE series, the books are:
Fatal Shadows
A Dangerous Thing
The Hell You Say
Death of a Pirate King
The Dark Tide
Stranger Things Have Happened (A Write Your Own Damn Story)
So This is Christmas

Most people forget to count the CYOA (WYODS) book. ;-)
