You write young people and siblings in such an amazingly true-to-life fashion. Does that come from your own experience with siblings or more so from the interactions of your children? PS: Merry is perhaps my favorite fictitious 8-year-old. She ranks right up there with Scout Finch. Thank you for writing such an amazing tale. I can't wait for more.

Hi, Ami. Thank you very much for the read and kind words. This makes my day!
When writing AHFoG, my daughter was Merry's age, so I took a lot from here. I also took from my older son, the high school students I teach, and my own sibling memories (I'm very close with my brother and sister). I still think of myself as a kid; a very cranky, confused, and achy kid. ;)

Not a question, but mad props! I loved the book, and read it as an ARC. But I just read an article in which Stephen King refers to 11 of the books he found "scariest", and Head Full Of Ghosts topped the list! I was so happy for you, and "Ghosts", I almost started crying!!!!! Halloween is coming. Can we have more scary and twisted please? Congratulations!!!

Dude. I'm not obsessed with you. It just seems that way because this is the third question I've asked. But, if we were hanging out and having coffee or a beer I'd been asking you a lot more questions. So three really isn't that many and certainty doesn't connote obsessions (me thinketh the lady bullshit aside...) So question: What? You don't have a uvula? Are you sure? Because that seems kinda odd.

I am currently in school for creative writing, hoping eventually to go into the publishing/editing field and of course get some writing published of my own. Did you take any english/literature/creative writing courses in college, aside from the normal required general education courses? I am just curious since you have your masters in mathematics.
