Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?

Jane Tesh I read a lot of fantasy and science fiction, and my favorite couple is Bren Cameron and Jago of C.J. Cherryh's Foreigner series. I love contrast between characters. Bren is a blond, blue-eyed white Earthman, who is the translator for the ruler of the ateve people. Jago is a very tall, black, golden-eyed ateva and is Bren's bodyguard. She's taller, stronger, and doesn't say very much. I really like the role reversal! Their relationship continues to progress throughout the series.
