This is a hard one, but I'd have to say all time favorite couple is Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara. (Gone with the Wind & Scarlett.) They couldn't stand each other at first, got under each other's skin, but in the end they fall in love. The road to their happiness was riffled with many obstacles that would cause most couples to split. Love triumphed. I'm a sucker for books and characters with a "love conquers all theme".
