Hmm. Mainly the act of asking lots of questions (which is also the way I create stories). Even the smallest idea can form the basis for an interesting race/species. One thing to keep in mind, though: don’t make every individual in a race/species the same. We’re all individuals, and we all have different interests and abilities. There’s probably a dwarf who hates smithing and mining and loves nothing so much as sitting by a fire and knitting a scarf. And there’s probably an elf somewhere who can’t stand the sight of trees and finds poetry highly annoying.

I understand you've said before that 20th Century Fox owns the rights to Eragon - but typically those things include only the content related to the movie. For example, FFG does Game of Thrones games based on the books, but not the show. All contracts are different, so I figured I'd ask?
