Angela
Angela asked Chris Bohjalian:

Reading "The Sleep Walker" & loving it. Early in the book when describing the mother's abandoned room, a book as "a beautiful black-and-silver doorstop of a novel about Marilyn Monroe, . . ." Were you referring to the novel by Joyce Carol Oates?

Chris Bohjalian That's correct. My wife and I think the world of Joyce's work, and that novel -- "Blond" -- fit the timeframe of "The Sleepwalker."

Those sorts of details matter, don't they? And wasn't it fun for you to recognize it?

Thanks so much for reading -- and writing.
