Leo McBride
Leo McBride asked S.E. Sasaki:

Medical sci-fi is a very particular genre - who were your influences in that regard? People such as Robin Cook, Michael Crichton, perhaps?

S.E. Sasaki I haven't read Robin Cook but I have read a number of Michael Crichton novels, which I quite enjoyed. Crichton was a wizard at taking a new finding in science or medicine and showing the possible dangers of that technology. I hope I am a little more optimistic about the future. Neal Asher, in his novels about the Polity, predict that medicine will be performed by autodocs. I hope that people continue to provide medical care to their fellow humans because I believe treating people is as rewarding to the caregiver as it is to the recipient. Thus my future still has doctors and nurses even though there are AI, androids, and robots aplenty.
