Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?

Ember Shane Aside from choosing a favorite book, this could be the hardest literary question I could be asked. But I like a challenge. =) I've given it a lot of thought. A lot. And I believe I've reached an answer I can live with. I have two favorite couples.

1) Lothaire and Elizabeth (Lothaire by Kresley Cole, Immortals After Dark #12) - Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series is AMAZING. All of them. But Lothaire and Elizabeth are my favorite. Him with his arrogance, her with her down-home, Southern ways. They are such opposites and come from completely different worlds and yet are so perfect for one another. I'd have them on this list just for the comedy alone... but then throw in the sexual tension and the battle of wills when they're equally determined people and you have an epic read.

2) Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy (Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen) - My favorite Austen novel. They each needed the other in order to open their eyes and see the truth of things. Darcy needed someone who wouldn't agree with him just for the sake of being agreeable. I love that they are both strong-minded and yet able to voice their differences. They made each other think; they made each other a better person.
