I am such a huge fan and have read We Are the Ants and The Five stages of Andrew and I am really excited about the new book At the Edge of the universe. I have noticed that all your characters are so deep. You make them very human and so real. I was wondering how you are able to get them like that? Thank You!

Thank you! Mostly I just try to be honest with them. Sometimes that makes people won't always like the characters or the choices they make, but I think that makes the more relatable, and definitely more honest.

What advice do you have for young, queer authors (such as myself) who want to write YA books with queer characters?(: (Also, I finished "We Are the Ants" pretty recently, and it's amazing. Only two books, before this one, have gotten me hooked onto a book with the first sentence, but yours is now on that list.)
