Lord of the rings -I can read that over & over and not get bored.
Bill Bryson 'notes from a small island' - to remind me of home and make me laugh.
Not sure on the 3rd one - maybe a Maya Angelou book?

Ooh, that's hard. I guess the first would be , to remind me that things could be worse.

My second would be . It's a book I've always found beautiful.

How about Ulysses, Clarissa and all seven volumes of Proust's À la recherche du temps perdu? ;-)

LOTR as one choice, Mists of Avalon as my second, and third.... Not sure.
