—Thor #362
They sing no songs in Hel, nor do they celebrate heroes,
For silent is that dismal realm and cheerless,
But the story of the Gjallerbru and the god who defended it is whispered across the nine worlds.
And when a new arrival asks about the one to whom even Hela bows her head,
The answer is always the same:
He stood alone at Gjallerbru.
And that is answer enough.

No. I’m not. I have been planning to destroy the Breakworld since I was a child.
(silence)
This is why I don’t make so many jokes. I never know when is good.”
-Colossus to Abigail Brand in "Astonishing X-Men"
“I am not made of steel. Rage. I...am made... of RAGE!!!!”
-Colossus in "Astonishing X-Men"
"That all you got, bub?"

Introductory quote from Art Spiegelman for his Breakdowns collection. It was originally from Rodolphe Toppfer, the creator of the first comics.

"Jean Grey is dead, Agent."
"Yeah, that'll last."
From Astonishing X-Men, Vol. 1: Gifted by Joss Whedon.
I just loved the way that they made fun of the way that Jean Grey keeps getting killed and then resurrected over and over again!

Born from oblivion; bear children, hell-bound as ourselves, go into oblivion. There is nothing else. Existence is random.
Has no pattern save what we imagine after staring at it for too long. No meaning save what we choose to impose.
This rudderless world is not shaped by vague metaphysical forces.
It is not God who kills the children. Not fate that butchers them or destiny that feeds them to the dogs. It’s us. Only us.”
- Rorschach, Watchmen

“She doesn't quite chop his head off.
She makes a Pez dispenser out of him.”
― Frank Miller, Sin City, Vol. 3: The Big Fat Kill
“Ladies. Gentlemen. You have eaten well. You've eaten Gotham's wealth. Its spirit. Your feast is nearly over. From this moment on...none of you are safe.”
― Frank Miller, Batman: Year One
“Worth dying for. Worth killing for. Worth going to hell for. Amen.”
― Frank Miller, Sin City, Vol. 1: The Hard Goodbye
The one that always makes me smile:
“I'm the GODDAMN BATMAN!”
― Frank Miller, All-Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder, Vol. 1

Echoing Ken's thought for others here around NYC (and other affected areas) to stay safe the next few days.

- The Amazing Spider-Man by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko"
Probably the greatest comic line ever!!!

Spider Jerusalem
Transmetropolitan Vol 6.

That is a surrender of the body to the heart
It is only proof
That we are beings that do not know
What to do with out hearts”
― Tite Kubo, Bleach, Volume 1: Strawberry and the Soul Reapers

“We should not shed tears
That is a surrender of the body to the heart
It is only proof
That we are beings that do not know
What to do with our hearts”
― Tite Kubo, Bleach, Volume 1: Strawberry and the Soul Reapers

Also...
"How am I supposed to relax in here? It's like my uncle Sharon's house."
By Deadpool. Of course.

― Stefan Zweig, The Post-Office Girl

Again, that's not a comic Lashya. :/

― Tite Kubo, Bleach, Volume 1: Strawberry and the Soul Reapers

― Alan Moore, V for Vendetta

― Neil Gaiman, The Sandman, Vol. 5: A Game of You

Rukia: Wha--wha'd you say? A rescuer isn't supposed to ignore the rescuee!
Ichigo: Yeah? And what kind of rescuee complains about the rescue!? Why don't you go sit in a corner and tremble in fear and cry out "Save me! Save me!" like you're supposed to?!
Rukia: I do not need saving, and I do NOT tremble!”
I hope I'm not repeating this one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dredd and johnny alpha on final panel in cursed earth

- Joker's closing dialogue from Batman The Killing Joke
"The living see death as a reflection. They do not realize they watch their own reflections."

"Captain America is not here to lead the country. I'm here to serve it. If I am a Captain, I'm a soldier. Not of any military branch but of the American people. Years ago, in a simpler time, this suit and this shield were created as a symbol to help make America the land it's suppose to be... To help it realize its destiny.
Ricocheting from super-villain duel to super-villain duel doesn't always serve that purpose. There's a difference between fighting against evil and fighting for the common good. I'm not always able to choose my battles... but effective immediately I am going to make an effort to choose the battles that matter. Battles against injustice, against cynicism, against intolerance.
Together, you and I will identify and confront America's problems. Together we will figure out what we are and what we can be. Together we will define the American dream and make it an American reality."

"Once upon a time. In a fictional land called New York City." - Fables

"My life is an embarrassingly pedestrian teenage cesspool." - Skank Zero Hopeless-Savage
"Reality is for people who can't handle fantasy." - a sticker in a notebook
"We don't care what music you kids love, so long as you have music to love." - Twitch Strummer Hopeless-Savage, explaining how his parents feel about his being a mod (and also gay)
That last one is just a wonderful sentiment.
"Aww, your uncle eats pickles!" - random kid in Avengers #21
"Don't gimme that keg o' horse apples, ya lop-eared yahoo!" - Nick Fury in Iron Man #125
(I wanted to post something really deep and meaningful, but instead all you get are old-timey insults. Sorry, folks.)

“KAPELA: Just look above you. Do you see? That is called the immense board of lights. And there is the Great Black and, strewn across it, small and surrounded and vulnerable and brave, there is the Great White.
COMMUTER: Oh. Oh, yeah. Of course. Hah. You know, that's perfect. That's really perfect. And the Great White... I mean, there's so much more black. A-are we losing?
KAPELA: No. Once there was only black. We are winning.” - Top Ten

'Our stories will separate for a time. I think this is what he wants, even if he won't ask. He'll face his enemies and I'll face mine for a time.
But only for a time.
For there is at least one truth, and both of us know it. It's one of the things that calls us to each other, despite everything.
BECAUSE SOMEDAY OUR BATTLES WILL END. AND THERE WILL BE NO GREATER TRAGEDY THAN FACING THAT END ALONE.'
The writing works so much better with the artwork and adds a whole different level but it is still excellent writing but if it's too long a quote try this one from the same sequence;
'...stories have their own lives, their own logic and they will play out as they will.'
