Rebecca May | 376 comments Would anyone else enjoy it if JK Rowling wrote an autobiography of Harry's life as if it was written by Harry himself, when he was like, 50 or 60 or something? It could include a lot of interesting stuff about after Hogwarts, before - and the Hogwarts years.
Or would it be too much of the same? What do you think?

I'd love to read little tidbits about Harry's later life (or the lives of any of the other characters, really), but I do think something like an autobiography would be too much. I'm just content with not knowing much more about Harry himself. And maybe I'm being a little closed minded, but after reading seven books in the third person, I don't think I would like to have a first person point of view book. I can't explain why. It just seems so strange. :)

Kath | 17 comments No...the series is already all about Harry. Which I love, but an autobiography would just be a little weird, plus I don't think I'd enjoy reading about him as an old man. We know him as a kid/teenager!

If J.K. Rowling were to write another book about that world, I'd love a prequel book. Centered around the original order of the phoenix, with James, Lily, Sirius, Lupin, Wormtail... We'd know that Wormtail was a double agent, we'd know how it all ended, but in a way that'd make it really fun.

Rebecca May | 376 comments Yeah - I would love a prequel book too - Snape would so have to be in it though!!!

Kath | 17 comments Of course! it'd be so good.

Brianna | 45 comments A prequel book would be amazing, but I'd love it if it was about Lily.

As for the Harry autobiography..I don't know. I mean, we know everything about him already. I suppose it would be nice to see how he views himself, but we kinda get that in the books already.

I guess a prequel book would be about all of them - the Marauders, Snape and Lily, and the young Death Eaters. It would be interesting to see whose point of view it would be from.

And maybe if there was a autobiography, like you say, it would be cool seeing how Harry would view himself, but also maybe it would be a way for J.K. Rowling to introduce new information or events she didn't include in the books? (aside from PotterMore, I mean :))

Kaitlyn | 18 comments I think it would be really cool. But what else could Harry add? We already know basically everything about him from the books

Paige C That would be AWESOME!

Noah (teatalksreadsbooks) | 8 comments Hmmmmmm....I'm not too sure. Part of me would be fascinated to learn what Rowling believed he did after Hogwarts. However, the other side of me thinks Harry's story has been told and there is no need for an extra books. Instead, I'm far more interested in the length Fantastic Beasts films and where film 5 will end in relation to the Potter novels. Lots of exciting things happening in the magical world!

Julia | 180 comments Just nothing more about Albus Severus ending up in Slytherin!! Or Voldemort's secret daughter!!!! Or Cedric becoming a Death eater!!!! :)

message 16: by C (new)

C | 52 comments Ehhh I'd have to agree with Katherine on this one. We already pretty much know everything about Harry, we followed his life for 7 years. Now an autobiography written by Voldemort , on the other hand, or Umbridge, or Bellatrix... that would be interesting.

message 17: by Megan (new)

Megan Cheang | 63 comments While it would be cool to read extra little tidbits, personally I've grown used to JK Rowling's third person pov. Plus, I can't see Harry writing his own autobiography. It's just not in his character.

message 18: by Dainty (new)

Dainty Daniella | 14 comments Definitely 🙂

Dainty Daniella | 14 comments And I think i have huge crush on Daniel Radcliffe

message 20: by CA (new)

CA | 32 comments No, we don't need anymore from Harry's side of view, in my opinion. We know Harry's earlier life throughout the first 7 novels (8 films). And his later life is touched on in Cursed Child. Other characters, though, sure!

Paul (paul8844) | 1 comments @Rebecca - An autobiography by Harry Potter would be great. His thoughts and personal views on what happened to him. Please do direct message me, I’d love to talk. Paul

AT Demeter | 9 comments I think HP's autobiography of his pre-Hogwarts years would be very interesting if not sad. But I'd love more to read a full account of Professor Snape's backstory as well as the REAL story about Dumbledore, even though both have got really complicated pasts.

message 23: by Daisy (new)

Daisy Hope | 16 comments I’m personally not super big on autobiographies but I would like to know more about Harry’s later life. I was happy that I could see this in the cursed child.
