Which will be on sale for .99 from October 22 to November 3rd in celebration of the launch of my second book!

At eighteen there is one thing Kate Ericson is certain of—the world is at war and has been since she was two years old. That was when her father pulled her family and a group of close friends to a God forsaken place in the middle of nowhere. For Kate there is no escape from the sea of lies she is drowning in until her world collides with Hunter Marks—the son of her father's biggest opponent. An opponent that Kate didn't even know existed. What Hunter kidnaps Kate for, and what her family will try to kill her to keep secret, is a knowledge that she doesn't have. Now Kate’s innocence seems to becoming undone at the seams of reality. Hunter then finds himself fighting the hopelessness that is creeping into the edges of her heart as she learns more about the corruption that has devoured their lives. As Hunter and Kate forge a strong and unique relationship it becomes clear that their love is something that the bureaucracy never expected, and that Hunter's father will do whatever he can to destroy it. Hunter believes he must sacrifice love in order to teach Kate that the world's deadliest weapon is her. Hunter and Kate will have to find the strength to rise above a deception that is so great, even the ones who created it don't realize its depth.

In Between Seasons is a new kind of dystopian novel, one that focuses on the characters and uses the lack of understanding of a corrupt world as the backdrop to shape them into who they are as people.

Dee Doanes (deedoanes) | 9 comments The Man With the Green Suitcase by Dee Doanes
99 cents on Kindle

What does...

A prostitute,
A corrupt businessman, and
A disfigured young woman

Have in common with a mysterious, old
homeless man who carries a green suitcase?

The old man comes into people’s lives because it is
important for them to experience the visions that he is somehow able to show them—visions that even he doesn’t understand. But whoever he connects with will go through a transformation that will change the course of their life, for better or worse. The old man has no memory of who he is or even what the suitcase holds.

This story is magical realism, realistic with paranormal elements, a mystery that needs to be solved, and a man and woman who will finally realize that they were meant to come into each other’s lives

and remain forever.

Jack Fallen | 3 comments I may be slightly biased but I'd like to nominate The Fallen.

The Fallen

It just came out a couple of weeks ago on Amazon but already getting good reviews.

It's a thought provoking post-apocalyptic adventure, in which an aid worker searches for his wife through the chaos caused when most of humanity is reduced to a state of nature. I lived in Africa for a while so some of it is based on personal experience but obviously not all!

Anyway, it's my first novel and I really just want to get the word out and for people to let me know what they think.

Hope you enjoy it!

Jack

UTNE Reader, Foreword Review, New Times, The Independent, and many others have given it excellent reviews.

J.D. Hallowell | 14 comments Thank you so much for the opportunity to nominate Dragon Fate. Dragon Fate by J.D. Hallowell

Dragon Fate is a heroic fantasy adventure in the classic tradition of the genre. Delno Okonan is a young former soldier eager to put the swords and strife of war behind him, when a chance encounter leaves him inextricably entwined in a tangled web of dragons, magic, and intrigue, as he struggles to find his place among dragons and men, and stave off a plot by renegade dragon riders that threatens all he now holds dear.

What the reviewers are saying:

"Excellent...really well-written and compelling."
~ Geoffrey Kabaservice, author of "Rule and Ruin"

"If you are a fan of Fantasy and dragon-lore, it would be hard to go wrong with Dragon Fate....Action, adventure, and, of course, dragons. You will not be sorry..."
~ Adam Byrn Tritt, author of "Ezekiel's Wheel"

S.J. Thank you for the much appreciated opportunity. Please accept my nomination of Longevity (Longevity Law Enforcement) for the indie BOM.

www.goodreads.com/book/show/13500377-...
Available on Amazon.

In Longevity, a speculative fiction novel set in the relatively near future, kick-ass LLE rookie Livvy joins legendary detective Chris and his unique, neuro-enhanced dog Louie to investigate a trillionaire with especially heinous plans to circumvent the Longevity Laws. The real issue, as ever, remains the need for secrecy. Public outcry surrounding LLE crimes leads to civil unrest severe enough to threaten the collapse of civilization.

"This is excellent work - and I don't mean 'excellent for it's price bracket', I mean excellent in an absolute sense. The quality of the writing stands comparison with established authors. It does what a good book should; makes you forget you're reading and transports you to a world which is sharply defined in your imagination.

The exploration of the subtle consequences of longevity on society, and the character development of the main protagonists, is superbly done." - Paul Spooner, Amazon UK reviewer
