The Fresh and the Obscure discussion

Something Nice - 10 Stories is a collection of my short stories written between 2000 and 2011, from the coming-of-age introspection of Write a Short Story... to the offbeat post-apocalyptic fun of The Longest Walk. The stories are sometimes scary, sometimes funny and sometimes horrible, but they should certainly never be boring!

So at the same time as two young students take comfort in each other's arms on a long summer afternoon, there's another bloke growing a cow's bum on his forehead, a young boy with a pig's tail and a haunted photocopier.

Wow, seriously chuffed to be a January book, and looking forward to discussion of my short stories. Which did you like? Which didn't work? Are there any themes that keep popping up throughout the book?

I started writing these stories in 2000, so although they're very dear to my heart, I have a certain amount of objective distance from most of them. Please don't spare my blushes ;)

Hi Andrew, congrats! I am tring to start up something new for this group and wondered if you would be interested. I have seen it done in other groups with success and have been a part of them myself. I want to set up each months books in a disscusion thread and if the authors are willing, to provide free copies of thier work to generate some reviews. It is completely up to you, I just wondered what your thoughts were.

I think I'd be up for that, and can generate a Smashwords voucher code so people can download their preferred format. Yes, count me in!
