The Free Book Challenge discussion
Who are you? Introduce yourself!

My name is Brianna, but everyone I know has called me Bree or Bria since I was little. I'm only 19, but I read A LOT and can always be found either on Facebook or with my nose in a book.
My reading list consists of Paranormal, horror, thriller, mysteries, historical fiction, and some of the classical literature as well as books on music (writing, reading, playing... I'm majoring in music education...)
My favorite book.... Choose any of the Harry Potter books and I'm set xDD - Books from my childhood that I absolutely LOVE, but if I couldn't choose them, I would choose "Wish you Well" by Dan Brown. Amazing book to check out if you haven't read it.
My favorite author would have to be Philippa Gregory. She got me hooked on the Tudor time era with historical fiction with "The Other Boleyn Girl" and continued it with her other novels on the subject. I absolutely adore her and her novels.
Errrmmmmm... I really don't know what else to put here other than I'm the owner of the Facebook page "Reading Fiction for Life" and we have our own Goodreads group too >.< Lol. Anyway, I believe I have taken up enough of your time with this really long introduction, so...
BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3
Happpy Reading <3

I mostly enjoy Historical Romance but I also enjoy Paranormal Romance, and the occasional Young Adult book.
My favorite book is: undecided, I have read so mand good books and I can't pick just one.
My favorite author's are Elizabeth Boyle, Patricia Briggs, and a couple others.
Done for now I guess, glad to "meet" you all.

I am on disabilty

Hi, I'm Jennifer the face behind The Book Nympho
When I'm not working full time, attending college part time or being Mommy to the sweetest 6 year old son, I'm reading. And sometimes I'm reading when I should be doing the other things.
Genres I usually read are Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy, Erotic Romance (does not have to be paranormal themed) and I've recently gotten into Contemporary Romance.
You can find me on Twitter @TheBookNympho And Facebook
My Free reads are all on my NOOK.

romance (it has to be really clean for me to enjoy it)
horror
so yep...historical fiction, dystopian, YA, childrens, non-fiction, clean romance, etc I read it.
My FAVORITE book of all time is The Giver by Lois Lowry. It's quickly followed by The Hunger Games series.
As for the rest of who I am. I am a SAHM to 4 kids, the oldest is 6. I read (duh!), sew, cook, bake, cross stitch, garden, can fruits, and run. I call myself a Jane of all trades :)
you can find me at Home Maid Simple

Some of my favorite hobbies are any crafts, especially cross stitching, scrap booking, stamping, card making, quilting, and sewing. I want to learn to knit and crochet, but I can't seem to find time b/w family and books. I also enjoy Baking, my husband seems to be the better cook. I love to spend time with my family; hiking, biking, and we all enjoy nature. We live in Washington, so we have alot of nature to enjoy.
I have an Android tablet with Kindle software that I use for Amazon. I love my Android! Some of my favorite books from 2011 was free. I get alot of good free or really cheap books on Smashwords; http://www.smashwords.com/ . I get alot of great recommendations from a book blog; http://www.maryse.net/free-ebooks. Maryse is my favorite book blog and this is her page dedicated to free EBooks and bargains.

HI JENNIFER, I am a follower on your book blog, follow your Good Reads reviews, FB, and Twitter. We have alot of books in common! Many books. Looking forward to more.

I love my Kindle Touch. Some military base libraries are fantastic and others leave a lot to be desired. Having a Kindle makes almost any book available to me. Of course freebies are my favorite, as my household budget doesn't allow for me to buy many books.
I also enjoy various kinds of needlework and I dabble in cooking different cuisines. The Chamorros (natives of Guam) have some delicious standards that I am trying to duplicate in my kitchen.

Welcome Heather. I am new here too. I look forward to sharing good "freebies" with you and others here. Right now I am reading The Last Rominoff, which was free when I downloaded it, but no longer. What are you reading?

I love to paint when I have the time. And I love to read. I am not sure that I have a favorite genre.I started reading romances such as Janet Daily when I was a teen. But as I have gotten older I have dabbled in other genres, non-fiction, mysteries. I mainly just love a well written book. One of my favorite books is "The Shack" which blew me away. Another favorite is "Heaven is for Real". I do not get to read as much as I would like. But I still love a really good book.
(:

I hope you have a speedy recovery Heather. It should be a good time for you to catch up on your reading. :-)

I hope you have a speedy recovery Heather... to me, that sounds like a prime reading opportunity.

Welcome Adam, glad to see you here too.

I’m a super-snob for prizewinners; I read the Pulitzer, Nobel, and National Books every year – I’m in love with Michael Chabon, Willa Cather, Evelyn Waugh, Junot Diaz, Julia Glass, Edmund White, Geraldine Brooks, and Michael Cunningham. (In taste, it looks like I’m the minority here, but I’m a sucker for a beautiful turn of phrase. I’ve been known to cry over great books.) I also read lots of plays.
I used to read about 30 books a year, but these last two years I’ve read 38 and then 49 books, respectively. I hope to read one book a week in 2013, including at least one classic a month. I’m not going to push it beyond that, because it ain’t a horse race. I have a Sony S tablet, and I have apps for reading pretty much any format.

"Industrial and organizational psychology (also known as I/O psychology or work psychology) is the scientific study of employees, workplaces, and organizations. Industrial and organizational psychologists contribute to an organization's success by improving the workplace and the performance, satisfaction and well-being of its people. An I/O psychologist researches and identifies how employee behaviors and attitudes can be improved through hiring practices, training programs, and feedback and management systems. I/O psychologists also help organizations transition among periods of change and development. Industrial and organizational psychology is related to organizational behavior and human capital."
Some I/O psychs are on the process end, developing how the work gets done, signage and arrangement that helps business or customer, workflows, et cetera.
I handle the human end, the interpersonal; I coach people, I help improve customer service, I teach managers how to manage their people. I also teach a lot of classes, both at the corporate level and at the college level. I'm one of the instructors Disney uses to teach its foreign students about American business values and interpersonal practice in business. I do a lot of personal counseling for people who a business, government agency, nonprofit organization wants to keep or promote. Not a lot of this is cognitive site, so I don't help with how sad people are that the puppies ran away when they were seven.
I just get people so that they do business with each other really well.

(ask a good question, get a good answer.)

Currently, I work with toddlers as a teacher in a daycare. It's not exactly my dream job, or the best use of my degree, but it works for now. I am going back to school in August to work towards a degree in education so that I can become a third grade teacher. I also plan on doing another major in either microbiology or anthropology. I do enjoy some aspects of my job such as being able to teach my children and the joy that I receive when they finally catch on to what I've taught them. I also enjoy the smiles, hugs, and kisses that I get from my kids when I come to work in the mornings.
I am an avid reader and have been since I was a child. I generally read anything except westerns, romance, and inspirational/Christian books. I quite enjoy horror, fantasy, historical fiction, and mysteries. I have also gotten into the Quirk classics recently. Right now, I am reading Android Karenina. Classic literature is another favorite of mine with Edgar Allan Poe, Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, HP Lovecraft, Victor Hugo, and Gaston LeRoux being among my favorites.
I look forward to making new friends.
-Elizabeth

I also love this site, because I am all about FREEBIES!! I even created a list of 40 FREE Kindle books that I update daily! I rarely buy books anymore, and if there is a book I really want to read, I download it from the library!

Being married to your 'heat friend' can be pretty nice, too. ;-D Welcome.

I wanted to say that, too. I married mine.

Well... I am in my mid-70's, but I married My Hero when I was 49 and he was 51. So see--there is hope folks.

I am Susanna and I love books like "Lord of the Rings" or "A Song of Ice and Fire". I have two ebooks out which are both non-fiction and include lots of wildlife/travel photography.
Thank you :)

My favorite authors are Iris Johansen, Tami Hoag, Nora Roberts and many more

My name is Jessica :) I am a college student studying English and Education and aspiring author. I have written several books, but I have yet to publish them, nerves and all. I mostly like to read supernatural thrillers and classic poetry, but I will honestly read pretty much anything I pick up. Often, I am found around campus with my nose in a book, sometimes several. I just can't get enough! My favorite authors include Stephen King, Dean Koontz, J.K. Rowling, Ned Vizzini, Edgar Allan Poe, Jane Austen and many, many more!

I'm not really one for talking (typing), because words don't seem to come as easily as the way I enjoy them, so I'll keep this brief, but I do hope I can get to know you all better.
Favourites right now would probably be some YA like Poison Study (Maria V. Snyder in general) and Graceling (and Fire and Bitterblue too) and Pushing the Limits and Hopeless and Slammed and I can probably go on and on...but usually only on the subject of books haha~ and most disliked is stuff I read in English Literature like A Passage to India -.- that was wayyy boring.
Ehhh...anything else to be added OvO reading, sleeping, music (EXO at the moment *Tao* to anyone who knows ^^), and manga - yes absolutely love reading manga (The Breaker: New Waves, The One, Kuroshitsuji, Bloody Monday, all the popular ones pretty much as well and some obscure ones - most genres are interesting)~ as much as I love novels I think :)
Well, this whole message seems pretty long now...so I apologize about the "brief" amount of time taken to read this, but well...actually not too sorry xD
Whenever I think about writing something, I wish it was this easy for words to flow...usually it's a perfect scenario in my mind but then when I put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) it seems content to only stay in my head *sigh* T^T
Yep that's my intro~ if anyone interested in discussing/recommending novels/manga, feel free to message/friend me >w<

My favorite book of all time is Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, who is also my all-time favorite author.
I love to read a little bit of everything including historical fiction, paranormal, horror, thriller and anything on the JFK assassination.
I tend to get a lot of free books because I can't afford to buy brand new most of the time but I have found a treasure trove of indie authors that I just love and can't wait to share them with all of you.
I am always on the lookout for a great free book so this group is perfect for me. I hope to get to know a lot of you fellow readers.

My name is Eliza-- I'm a programmer, fantasy junky, and an author (currently finishing the second of a fantasy novella series). I love anything written by Neil Gaiman, George RR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire, Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan saga, CS Lewis' "Till We Have Faces". So... fantasy intrigue. (I'm also mildly in love with Doctor Who, but...)
Anyway, I'm trying reading ebooks at the gym, and I need to check out some new authors, so I thought I'd stop by. ^^ ... Is it terribly tacky to add one of your own books to the free list?

I love Fantasy, Horror, some Mystery and some Humour :D
Are the book links all for the US Amazon site, just that Im from the UK

I'll almost immerse myself in anything except murder mysteries or any of those who-did-it type books. However my favorite authors are tamora pierce (as she was the childhood author that I discovered my love of books with), Diana gamboldon (suggested to me by my nan who loves a little adventurous romance) and currently rachelle mead who I am devouring anything I can get my hands on that she has written.
Generally I follow the trends and ask friends and family for suggestions on what author or series to consume next but that is not necessarily an affordable method of discovering new reads. So I have already scoured your posts and downloaded quite a few free books thanks. I do hope you keep up the posts and I'll do my best to contribute so when I get through these it's easy to find more. :)

I read romance, Christian Fiction romance, mystery- and crime-thrillers, and some paranormal and fantasy. I love family dramas, and I read the occasional science fiction. The idea behind this group is wonderful. I found it while searching for groups where authors can share their free books. But in the true spirit of the group, I'm going to go back and take a look at the many free books on my Kindle and see which ones grab my attention. I hope to find a forgotten jewel or two and share it with the group in a couple of weeks. My thanks to you, Heather, for starting it.

My name is Heather and I am a SAHM. I LOVE to read, however, I also love to do a lot of other things! I knit, crochet, scrapbook, cross stitch, craft, garden, sew, cook and pretty much anything else you can think of!
I created this group because I noticed that my "to-read" list was getting OUT OF HAND! Mostly due to all the free books I have accumulated since I got my first Kindle. This little challenge of mine will hopefully fix that "problem" I have.
I mostly enjoy Paranormal Romance but I also enjoy Historical Romance, Mystery, and the occasional Young Adult book.
My favorite book is "Whitney My Love"
My favorite author is Nora Roberts. I can pretty much read ANYTHING of hers and LOVE it. Especially her older books.
I hope you all find this challenge interesting as well and feel free to join in the conversations and let us know about the free books you have come across!
HAPPY FREE READING!
~Heather
