My current queue is into next year so if you're in a hurry, I'm probably not a good choice for you.
Gary, sure, I'll read non-fiction; just be specific about what you want done with it when you submit it. I can do a straight read/review or something more if you want.

One word of caution: I shall always be completely honest. I'm not ever going to provide a "glowing review" for a book I don't absolutely love. I'll always evaluate a book honestly and without bias (even if I know or am online friends with the person).
If I am friends with you (or if you're in this group and specifically request it), I'll give you the option to read and potentially "veto" my review (i.e., get NO review rather than a bad one) but I won't allow anyone to edit/censor my opinions. This has caused more than one online acquaintenance to actually stop talking to me. I guess several of the people I've met online have only wanted to acquire positive reviews from me, not actual online friendship. Sad. Some of my online friends from non-book-related contexts have known me decades.
Please only solicit me for reviews if you're willing to take an honest (or no) review. I'll read anything but really dislike certain genres (fantasy, UF, paranormal -- esp. beasties or demons or wiccan) and definitely dislike the most-popular YA out today as I find it to be too immature, intellectually, for my attention span. If your book is one of these genres, I'm still willing to read it and review it objectively, with the goal in mind that I am not, personally, the target audience but rather, evaluating it on behalf of that target. Like a reader at a publishing house, I'll say whether or not readers of other UF/paranormal, Fantasy genre etc. will be likely to enjoy this story. I don't have to like a genre to know what makes it popular (in fact usually those are the elements that make me dislike it).
I am totally willing to suspend disbelief and can really enjoy a good "escapist" romance novel and don't really like to be forced to think too hard while reading but i do enjoy an intellectually-engaging authorial voice. Immature or overly-simplified voices or story premises really don't grip me. I like books that grip me -- from which you can guess correctly that my top 3 genres are thriller, mystery/suspense and romantic suspense. I really like science fiction, too (good thing, since I write it under another name) but I don't really like the weird aliens or alien space wars or general space war/conquer the universe type stories. I prefer the hard science stories that are speculative and involve more classic-sounding premises.
If you want my review, please post here or use the form on my blog to submit a book for review. I'm somewhere between 4 and 12 weeks out (depends on my new day job). I require a free copy of the book, preferably in ePub or PDF format but I can take Kindle, too, if you have set it up exclusively with Amazon. I prefer eBooks over paper.
