1. Tessa chose to have sex with a random guy because she thinks she won't have enough time to fall in love and she just wanted to have the experience and not get her hopes up.
2. Her best friend told her she won't fall in love because she was indirectly trying to protect her, even though it came off as mean. She had good intentions.
