Crazy for Young Adult Books discussion

So far, Katie and I are having a buddy read for Hunger (Gone #2) starting on November 16th. This is the second book in the series! Sign up if you are interested and if you have already read the first one!

Yay, tomorrow :) I'm gonna say 5-7 chapters a day because from what I gather we're both as busy as one another! EXCITED! :D

Yeah, come and chat whenever (: I'm a little bit behind due to being busy at work and an impromptu night out last night as well! Must catch up today and I'll let you know - I've read 3 chapters so far, seems to be repeating a lot of what happened in the first book so far!

I am about 3 chapters in as well and I agree with what you said about it being kind of repetetive.

Yes, I am behind as well! I'm almost done chapter 2! So far it's just repeating stuff from book 1 and giving us some info on the people so they can come back to us:D I forgot some of the characters :(

Oh me too, luckily it wasn't too long ago I read Gone! But yeah I was like oh yeah I remember him, aha!

Is everyone here?? I would like to discuss this book a little and I have a few questions about this book but I would like to know what page everyone is on so I don't spoil anything... I am on page 114, I wish I was farther but like I said, I have been busy.

I understand completely.. It is hard finding time to read when you have a jammed-pack schedule... I am really liking this book so far!! It is getting very interesting where I am at.. I hope you can find some time to read! :)

I'm really liking where it's going so far, it has promise :) I think we've got over the repetition now!

This book is getting really good and interesting!!!! Does anyone else (that has the american cover) notice that the spine gets creased and the edges get frayed very easily?

Okay, after I ask this I will probably be very embarrassed! Who is Bug? Are they referring to Sam? Sorry, I'm just very confused!

Haha don't be embarrassed. Bug is one of Caine's "minions". He is just a supporting character.

And do you know who Ellen is?? It mentions something about her and Edilio. I don't think she plays any important part but I was just curious.

Haha it's no problem. Life is busy. I totally understand. I am about 300 pages in and it is getting really interesting. I am hoping I can finish tonight but that might be a bit too much to ask.

I just had a random thought: I don't really feel a connection between Astrid and Sam. I haven't from the start of this series. Maybe you guys don't agree with me but I kind of feel as though their relationship was just randomly thrown in there. Does anyone else feel this way or is it just me?

Now as you brought that up....It does seem like their relationship was just randomly thrown in there to maybe stir things up or make things better! Usually, (if they are really meant for each other) I will feel it and know that they belong together but the more I think about it I never felt the connection between Sam and Astrid either! Good point, Tori!

I was just randomly thinking about that and thought I would get your opinion about it. Glad we are on the same page!

Sorry ive been away. But i totally agree with you guys, i don't feel any connection whatsoever between the two of them as it just seems to be put in there because it NEEDS it when it clearly doesn't! I need to read some more today :)
