That's the one hundred percent truth.

I have a hard time doing that lol ;) Editing is my Achilles heel haha...I hate erasing and changing what I've already written XD

Mark | 25 comments Is anyone going to continue on after reaching the 50,000 word goal in the event they still haven't come up with an ending to their novel before November ends?

message 16: by _rebeccab (new)

_rebeccab | 8 comments Mark wrote: "Is anyone going to continue on after reaching the 50,000 word goal, haven't reached the end of the story and still have some time left?"

I'm aiming for 70-80K for the first draft, ideally 90-100K for the second. I'm probably not going to hit the 70K by the end of November since I have a trip planned, but I don't really plan on living or dying by NaNoWriMo.

Mary Findley | 51 comments I definitely want to finish this, and I expect it to be twice as long as 50.000 at least. May I share a possible cover? This is a steampunk literary tribute series. Oliver twist is the main character/narrator.

message 18: by ♠ TABI⁷ ♠ (new)

♠ TABI⁷ ♠ (tabi_card) I like it! I think the guy in front, his edges need to be a little muted. Its a cool concept, but it looks very raw and not finished...unless that is the truth about it lol. I would say some touch up and maybe don't spread the title out, and smaller font, and you've got it! ;)

message 19: by SteinFussel (new)

SteinFussel who designs your covers, Mary? I like it, though some edges (like the ears) look sort of photoshoped over the background. Do you see what I mean? The lines are darker than the skin and the background like a cutting line. Same goes for some lines in the background (the lady and the oder man on the left side). I really like the design! :D

message 20: by Mary (new)

Mary Findley | 51 comments Yes, it's just a rough layout. Thank you. I do all our covers, and covers for other authors sometimes. The book is far from finished so I expect it may change.

message 21: by SteinFussel (new)

SteinFussel what program do you design your covers with?

message 22: by Mary (new)

Mary Findley | 51 comments Photo Impact, from Corel. It does most of the stuff Photoshop does but is only $30.00.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

SteinFussel Leo... so? who is this nano anyway and why does (s)he know when your story will be done? :D
develop your story in your pace, work on it in your head, make some notes and an outline... think it through. the next nano will be here sooner than you realize and then you are perfectly prepared! i believe that you can do it! Of course you can! :D just don't give up.

Whoa cool!!!! I try to design covers lol but I'm still learning grahpics through self-teaching haha so it's going a little slow. That's awesome that you design your own covers!!! XD

message 27: by Mary (new)

Mary Findley | 51 comments Cute, SteinFussel! Great encouragement for Leo. And thank you, Tabi. I learn something new every time I do one. :-)

message 28: by ♠ TABI⁷ ♠ (new)

♠ TABI⁷ ♠ (tabi_card) No problem, learning graphics has given me an even better appreciation and respect for those who can do them quite well. ;)

message 29: by SteinFussel (new)

SteinFussel I WISH I could do art like that... I am far, far, FAAAR away from it. Anyone care to help me design or do it for me one day? lol :D

Absolutely, I'm about 2/3 into the story and have continued after validating. There is still much to tell before the inevitable editing, re-editing, re-re-editing process.

This is my first NaNo, the fourth Noveling attempt and the first that actually has a shot of being completed, so you can bet you hinny that I intend to go on throughout December until it's complete.

message 40: by Mary (new)

Mary Findley | 51 comments The host is an interesting premise. A little different from most symbiotic-themed stories.

message 41: by Emilio (new)

Emilio Calderon (emiliocalderon) | 24 comments I understand there are two more books following The Host, which I have not yet read, which also seem interesting.

If it bores you to snores, just act/pretend like you're re-reading it. I hope that helps the problem.

message 44: by Lashya (new)

Lashya Wilson | 37 comments I think it might just be the link(s). I'll just have to focus on what I'm doing wrong.

Lashya Wilson | 37 comments Victoria wrote: "Ok fellow nanos and readers I need to know your favorite YA fiction book! I am making a Christmas wish list and I need some New good books."

Mine are all series. There are 3 of them. I will post their covers, and their authors.

My First Series: (The fourth and final book I have not read, yet, but I will.) Cinda Williams Chima's The Demon King (Seven Realms, #1) by Cinda Williams Chima , The Exiled Queen (Seven Realms, #2) by Cinda Williams Chima , The Gray Wolf Throne (Seven Realms, #3) by Cinda Williams Chima & The Crimson Crown (Seven Realms, #4) by Cinda Williams Chima . She actually has TWO DIFFERENT SERIES. I have not yet read her "Heir Chronicles" Series, yet.

My Second Series: (The fifth and final book has not been finished, yet, but it will, soon.) Colleen Houck's Tiger's Curse (The Tiger Saga, #1) by Colleen Houck , Tiger's Quest (The Tiger Saga, #2) by Colleen Houck , Tiger's Voyage (The Tiger Saga, #3) by Colleen Houck , Tiger's Destiny (The Tiger Saga, #4) by Colleen Houck & Tiger's Dream (The Tiger Saga, #5) by Colleen Houck . I hope she will be finished soon, because I want it ssssoooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Third and Final Series: Laura Resau's The Indigo Notebook by Laura Resau , The Ruby Notebook by Laura Resau & The Jade Notebook by Laura Resau . She does view this as a series, but her fans do.

Victoria, I hope this keeps you busy for awhile.

PLEASE ENJOY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

message 46: by Lashya (new)

Lashya Wilson | 37 comments She, Laura Resau, does NOT view this as a series, but her fans do.

I DID & STILL DO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope so! that would be great!

message 50: by Lashya (new)

Lashya Wilson | 37 comments Hey Victoria, here's a quick suggestion to my Message Number 45::

Start with Laura Resau's "Colorful Notebook" Series.
It has 03 Books in it, and all are finished.

Next, Cinda Williams Chima's "Seven Realms" Series.
It has 04 Books in it, and all are finished.

Finally, Colleen Houck's "The Tiger Saga" Series.
It has 05 Books in it, and FOUR Are finished.

Whatever your reading speed is, either way, by the time you get to Colleen Houck's Tiger's Dream (The Tiger Saga, #5) by Colleen Houck , it will or should be finished, published and available.
