The end of the world is near—December 21, 2012, to be exact—according to theories based on a purported ancient Maya prediction. So hurry up and read a book with an end of days genre on the main book page: Apocalyptic, Post Apocalyptic, Dying Earth, or Dystopia.

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

Awesome book...It took a little to get into but it was worth it once the action picked up.

Now, if you feel strongly about the online world versus reality, you won't necessarily be pleased with ambiguity the book reflects but the fact it, it makes alot of sense for the world and for the characters.

374 pages

If you're by the library, make the walk upstairs! We've put together a small selection of books appropriate for the "End of Days"...

James The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell End of Days by Robert Gleason Ready Player One by Ernest Cline Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood The Road by Cormac McCarthy The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner The City of Ember (Book of Ember, #1) by Jeanne DuPrau

I read Divergent by Veronica Roth. I went into it a little wary simply because there have been so many YA dystopian novels in the last few years that are trying to follow in the footsteps of the Hunger Games. But within the first 20 pages I was hooked and couldn't put it down. The female lead was relatable and I found myself caring about what happens to her. Much better than many YA novels coming out right now. 487pg

Lynn | 24 comments The City of Ember (Book of Ember, #1) by Jeanne DuPrau I read The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! I was kind of surprised that I liked it so much but then thought about my favorite book series growing up which was The White Mountains by Jim Christopher which is another sci-fi end of the world kind story told from the perspective of teens. I am excited to read the next books of the series. 270 pages.
