Chuck | 149 comments Finished reading "The Invisible Ones" by Stef Penney - 3/5 stars.

Now reading "Map of Bones" by James Rollins, Book 2 of the Sigma Force series.

"During a crowded service at a cathedral in Germany, armed intruders in monks' robes unleash a nightmare of blood and destruction. But the killers have not come for gold; they seek a more valuable prize: the bones of the Magi who once paid homage to a newborn savior, a treasure that could reshape the world."

With the Vatican in turmoil, SIGMA Force leaps into action. An elite team of scientific and Special Forces operatives under the command of Grayson Pierce and accompanied by Lieutenant Rachel Verona of Rome's "carabinieri," they are pursuing a deadly mystery that weaves through sites of the Seven Wonders of the World and ends at the doorstep of an ancient, mystical, and terrifying secret order. For there are those with dark plans for the stolen sacred remains that will alter the future of humankind . . . when science and religion unite to unleash a horror not seen since the beginning of time

I've done that also. I've also had some problems finding some of the earlier ones. I'll have to look at Amazon for them, once I remember which ones I have and which I've read.

I use fantasticfiction.com when looking up writers and what books they have written. You search by the writers name or by the title of the book you are looking for. What's nice about this site is once you find the writer you are looking for it will show the published date of the book and if the writer has a series, it will put them in order for you by date.

It's a great site and easy to use - try it!

Good job! Won't be reaching my goal this year - Who knows maybe next year. We'll be traveling more so hopefully I'll hit 100.

Now reading "Dark Currents" by Jacqueline Carey.

"The Midwestern resort town of Pemkowet boasts a diverse population: eccentric locals, wealthy summer people, and tourists by the busload; not to mention fairies, sprites, vampires, naiads, ogres and a whole host of eldritch folk, presided over by Hel, a reclusive Norse goddess.

To Daisy Johanssen, fathered by an incubus and raised by a single mother, it’s home. And as Hel’s enforcer and the designated liaison to the Pemkowet Police Department, it’s up to her to ensure relations between the mundane and eldritch communities run smoothly.

But when a young man from a nearby college drowns—and signs point to eldritch involvement—the town’s booming paranormal tourism trade is at stake. Teamed up with her childhood crush, Officer Cody Fairfax, a sexy werewolf on the down-low, Daisy must solve the crime—and keep a tight rein on the darker side of her nature. For if she’s ever tempted to invoke her demonic birthright, it could accidentally unleash nothing less than Armageddon."

I just finished Wild Penance by Sandi Ault. It's a mystery and was so good. Even though it was the 4th book of a series, it was easy to read. I didn't figure out the murderer until it was explained to me but I always like those books that have a religious conspiracy type story line. Really good. Held my interest throughout.

Now reading "Night of the Jaguar" by Michael Gruber.

"Deep in the jungles of Colombia, an American priest is shot dead in his makeshift church.

A few weeks later an Indian shaman arrives in South Florida, armed only with a bag of totems and the fearsome power of his vengeful god.

As a Miami Homicide Detective, Jimmy Paz saw terrible things that defied rationality. Now retired, he's put the darkness behind him. But suddenly he, his wife, and their young daughter are being haunted by horrific dreams—terrifying visions of a giant jungle cat. And when affluent Miami businessmen begin dying gruesomely in their fortress-like homes—with the footprints of a massive animal found at the crime scenes—the baffled police must turn to Paz, who has experience with the impossible. Paz cannot refuse, for he's tied to this case by a shocking secret from his past."
