Chelsea (theycallmebookworm) | 1955 comments After reading and rating your books do you shelve them in other book shelves or do you not?

Personally I make a shelf for each genre, how I much I liked it and how it made me feel. That means many shelves! It works for me though.
I also have shelves named:

~ swoony-swoon-swoon
~ shakes main character furiously
~ needed tissues
~ emotional rollercoaster
~ kick-butt heroines

I very particular. :)
What about you?

I'm actually working on organising and cleaning up my shelves at the moment.

I'm going to make a clear shelf for each genre and sub genre (of YA, because all my books are YA, well there are a few younger ones but anyway) so that's Contemporary, Dystopian, High Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, Magic (I will use this for books that don't fit High or Urban fantasy), Historical, Classic... etc.

I have shelves for a few authors and am planning to make more

I have shelves for each holiday's library books borrowed this year (so far), a 2013 shelf with my books I've read this year, and will make shelves for each month (this year) (My "date shelves" are all this year because I only joined on the last day of 2012 and wasn't cataloging my books very accurately back then.

I don't really have emotional shelves, and I'm trying not to have too many shelves because then they just turn into a mess.

I had a "beautiful-covers" shelf and then deleted it because some of the covers weren't exactly beautiful, just looked cool. I'm going to remake it and call it "awesome covers"

I have a "did-not-finish" shelf, there's only a few on that, I think two I read almost 2/3 and then stopped. Can't remember why.

I have a shelf of "books-i-own", self explanatory. I know there's a way you can tick your books and it says you own a copy and you can then say what condition its in and stuff... I think I've used it a bit but not much since I can never find it.

Then there's "need-to-buy", self explanatory again, just my little checklist.

My "favourites" shelf is overflowing, so I made an "all-time-favourites" which is pretty much my favourite books ever.

Um...

"Hated-it" again, self explanatory...*cough* Twilight *cough* Matched *cough*

I think that's about it.

I have "to-reread" (which needs updating) and "to-read-asap" (needs updating or deleting and starting over)

That's pretty much my shelves :)

Oh, and another thing I only shelve in detail the books I've read (by genre). Although I plan going through my colossal "to-read" list and working on cleaning that up a bit, too... some of the books on there I have no idea how they got there

Kate (kaitlins16) I've made shelves for genres, but I really need to update them.

cc (caitlinisakittycat) I still just have the original three shelves, but I'm thinking of creating a DNF, a Best of the Best, & an Absolutely Awful shelf.
