ARR - authors requesting reviews
Yes - the idea is that the authors in the group benefit from us reading their book in the particular month, which ever gets the most votes - the readers benefit from getting an ebook :)
Hopefully people see it as win-win for the group!

I'm sure these are stupid questions, but here goes:
Are only the 1,497 members of Books, Blogs, Authors, & More allowed to participate in this event?
If so, does this mean that we could conceivably give away 1,497 ebooks, should our book be chosen?
Lastly, and please pardon my technological ignorance, but how would my ebook be so widely distributed?
Lisa

Yes - you would be required to provide free copies to the readers who sign up to the read-in. (The benefit for authors is the discussion of your book during the month and potential reviews from those taking part).
The read-in is open to all members of the group - I really doubt anywhere near that will take part (given what I've seen on other groups). Everyone in the group is eligible to vote in the poll to choose the book and sign up to read.
Readers wanting to take part will be asked to provide the format required and their email address on the sign up thread, which the author would then provide, prior to 1st February.
Hope this makes sense :)

The vote happens before the reader sign-up each month and so if you vote but don't fancy what gets picked then you don't have to join in to read.
The main thing we would ask is that if you sign up as a reader and receive a copy of the book that you provide a rating / review on Goodreads for it. This can be after the Read-In month if you don't get time then.
Obviously, with the discussion threads and author question areas connected to the Read-In there are added benefits of reading at the same time as the group.
Hope this helps :)

So the sign up is a month by month basis then, correct?
