I keep saying, it would be great to leave a symbol or note (rather than when one finishes a book) about how much they like them. I have Lorraine Bartlett, Avery Aames, Susan Wittig Albert in my queue too. Some people leave review links but I'm sensitive about spoilers before I've read it myself.

I'm so glad you love Dorothy Gilman, who we just lost in February 2012. Fans were even welcomed to her funeral in New York, USA. The series started in 1966 but that isn't necessarily what clues you in to 'different writing'. I grew up with gothic mystery greats and although she leaned more towards personal adventures; she fit in with the group I was reading of those wonderful gothic mystery eras.
Are you ready for this? She's most famous for her Mrs. Pollifax series, which I've collected and you have begun. But I haven't touched it yet! For some crazy reason I approached Dorothy by starting with her standalone books instead! And they are phenomenal. http://cmriedel.wordpress.com/2012/04...

Barb's 2013 Cozies
My mom introduced me to Mrs. Pollifax years ago, and I loved all of her books, but haven't read any of Gilman's stand alones.

My theory with Mrs. Pollifax (and I do hope my Dorothy Gilman blog article has the pleasure of visitors) is that it must be the best of the best. Therefore I started with her skews off that path and thought: if I adore them, I might very well be thunderstruck by the series when I at last savour it! Carolyn.

Yes, we all have different opinions as to what constitutes a "cozy," but I think there's a lot of common ground too.

I also wonder if you found this amusing. She's most famous for Mrs. Pollifax but I haven't touched it! For some crazy reason I approached Dorothy, starting with her segues! They are phenomenal. I worte an article that I hope folks like. http://cmriedel.wordpress.com/2012/04...

Her fantasy, "The Maze In The Heart Of A Castle" (1983) is awesome and should be a film. Her autobiography, I just acquired last month!!!! It's about moving to Nova Scotia (a gorgeous province) after divorce: "A New Kind Of Country", 1978. http://www.amazon.ca/review/R3DLMS1RM...

Not really. A lot of a people post their reading lists ahead of time, then go back and add the date completed later, when they've actually read the book/s.

I'm the same way :) Although I do admire those who are able to plan ahead -- and stick to the plan! LOL

Barb, here here! Whether it's a pre-plan or finishing list, posting one at a time is distracting. I prefer to sit down in bulk too. Great titles on your list too and you put so much WORK into it. So do I - which is why I haven't staked my new mountain yet. LOL I'm in end-of-month review-linking! The ones with prizes. {wink}
