i don't even think lemony snicket knows the answers to your questions! lol yes its terribly confusing.....WHO KILLED THE PARENTS DANGIT????
NO IT DOESNT ITS SO ANNOYING cuz right when violet or one of the kids realizes she is sympathizing for the man who killed their parents and made their lives miserable she says, "you killed our parents" and he says "no i didnt" AND THEN HE DIES ITS LIKE WTF????

yeah seriously me too i seriously SOBBED for TWO HOURS not exaggerating like into my pillow like he always says you are throughout the whole series but i just laughed those comments off and then i did!! i was like WHOA!!
This is about Olaf, not the End...
it reminds me of when a certain dude dies (not Turner, the one who really dies...) in the last Pirates movie...i was just beginning to like him...:P
well, it's not quite the same thing, but yew know. :D
well, it's not quite the same thing, but yew know. :D

gosh though, i was all sad cuz he waz cool and sacastic, and sunny's like "gawd, finally, i hated him." and it waz like :O

Count Olaf is evil. And mean. And can be severely annoying.
But as the series went on I realized how awesome he was! I mean, you can't read about idealistic, good-to-the-bone, victimized kids and not have a pessimistic villian who says mean things to them that make you laugh and go "hey, that's actually kind of true". Yes, that was very rambly.
But "The End" broke my heart. In all of the books he was in (ok, which is all of them), I liked him the most in that one. He was so hopeless and you saw him as more human. And I think he loved Kit. ='(
Oh, and what's up with the box of poison darts? Do you think that the Baudelaire parents actually had something to do with the murder of Olaf's parents?
I think they murdered someone with poison darts but it would have been impossible for them to murder Olaf's parents, unless he was in his twenties or thirties when he was orphaned- they're all around the same age (the Snicket siblings, Beatrice and Olaf). There was a night that involved poison darts, we know that from the Penultimate Peril, I think, but that possibly was even when Sunny was born, I can't remember..
SPOILER FOR THE END
but it was awful because he dies RIGHT WHEN HE TOLD THEM HE DIDNT KILL THEIR PARENTS!!!!!!
END SPOILER
