From the fantastic author of The Lonely Hearts Club and Prom & Prejudice comes a story of all the drama and comedy of four friends who grow into themselves at a performing arts high school.

Emme, Sophie, Ethan, and Carter are seniors at a performing arts school, getting ready for their Senior Showcase recital, where the pressure is on to appeal to colleges, dance academies, and professionals in show business. For Sophie, a singer, it's been great to be friends with Emme, who composes songs for her, and to date Carter, soap opera heartthrob who gets plenty of press coverage. Emme and Ethan have been in a band together through all four years of school, but wonder if they could be more than just friends and bandmates. Carter has been acting since he was a baby, and isn't sure how to admit that he'd rather paint than perform. The Senior Showcase is going to make or break each of the four, in a funny, touching, spectacular finale that only Elizabeth Eulberg could perform.

Srijeesha ~ The Directioner | 484 comments I loved this book as well. :D
A teen-story.
Shifting between the perspectives of four teens, each with their own goals and desires, and all at the same school focused on the arts, this one puts a nice twist on going through life and figuring things out.
Emme is my favorite of the four characters, someone who prefers to stay in the background rather than be in the limelight. Eulberg writes her in such a way that honestly, I couldn’t help but appreciate the way she was.
Carter is also a favorite, a guy who has been a star plenty yet resents it in his own way. While he has some misconceptions about things, he is finally at the point of wanting to do things for him, rather than others. Though he’ll stand up for himself, he is far from cocky or arrogant, and he truly is the kind of boy any girl would be lucky to know, even just as friends. Caring and understanding, there is great depth to Carter that shines throughout the book.

Ishi Bhanot | 2860 comments 4 stars to this book!

These kind of YA stories are my guilty pleasure I think :P

I liked the multiple POVs and whereas I did like the ending, I felt something incomplete..
My fav character was, without a doubt, Ethan. He just cared too much for Emme. So much so that he even risked to get hurt from her, not once, but twice.
Also, I could relate to his ways of being too hard on himself.

I ABSOLUTELY hated Sophie and Amanda!! And honestly? She deserved what all happened to her!
Once someone told me, that an artist knows not only their art, but also their values and manners.
And I'm pretty sure being a sore loser aren't manners.

Purvika (violetstygian) | 166 comments I didn't like it much. It was an ok read. Apart from Emme iI didn't like any character. Though Ethan had redeeming quality. His cheating and self loathing just got on my nerves. I mean sure you are justifying your actions but come on... Cut the crap already. Sophie was your regular antagonist of the story. Oh hell every stony needs one. Why can't a story be without a bitch who have absolutely no desire other than to be on top and have fame more than she can gulp. Other characters were ok. I think it could have been better much better. Plot was good but filled with regular contemporary clichés.

Oh and it was getting as hell annoying reading Sophie's POV.

2.5★ from me.

Divya | 85 comments I am going to start with: I hated Sophie. And Amanda. Sophie deserved all that had happened to her. Ben and Jack kind of blended into one for me, and I didn't really care for either of them. I think the problem with this book is that it was too short. Ethan, I liked and understood. Emme was way too naive for me to appreciate. She should have ditched Sophie long back. Carter was my favourite of all the characters. He was the one who stood up to his mother and pursued his dreams and I loved him.

3 stars!
