Discuss chapters 1-10 here. No spoilers from beyond chapter 10.

Bruce | 137 comments The premise of this book truly expands the Star Wars universe by focusing on a X-wing squadron of pilots as opposed to Jedi, galactic senates and the Force. The Rogue Squadron is reassembled with newly trained fighter pilots to combat remnants of the Empire after the deaths of Vader and Palpatine. Wedge Antillies trains and leads various species of pilots and the book gives his character a chance to develop far beyond the original trilogy. After reading 'I, Jedi', I'm interested in learning more about Corran Horn and am enjoying the ribbing between the pilots after the training exercise. I'm interested in the young buck, Gavin Darklighter, mainly because I like his name and want to know why he's a such a talented pilot at a young age. Tycho Celchu has also peaked my interest since he is an XO under lock and key. Kirtan Loor is obviously shaping up to be an adversary to the squadron. Could the new anthology film and it's title, 'Rogue One', have been inspired by these books?

Julie Early on, there was some funny banter, the way military guys tease each other, and I hoped they would continue with that, but it seemed to end there. It also seems weird that Admiral Akbar would say that he needs the squadron to be ready in just a week. I don't imagine his character to be so rash from what I know of him in OT movie and Clone Wars cartoon. Can't wait to see what happens when they go into battle in the rest of the book.

Pikmin | 14 comments Too many character have been introduced too quickly. While I feel I have a handle on a fair few there are many who haven't idea about.

I play quite a bit of X Wing miniatures so it's nice to put character to some of the names.

I had thought I'd read this back when it was released but if I did I remember so little. A good start so far
