so...my oldest is going to Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) for a week long seminar to kind of intro college and stay in a dorm (Ugh! I'm mildly crying inside. my babies grow up so quick)

while my youngest and I are staying on Jekyl Island so my youngest child can go to a Turtle Day Camp at the turtle reserve they have there

We will even get to do a night walk where we put the runners out and help guide the baby turtles to the ocean. how cool is that?? I'm so excited! lol

That turtle reserve sounds like something my brother would absolutely ADORE! He is obsessed with turtles. Ahh!! That sounds amazing.

I am doing good! School just ended on Tuesday. I had all of my finals and I got all A's except for one B. I got all of my overall course grades and my lowest grade was a 94. I am SUPER proud but it took a ton of work! I am over the moon excited to go to Oregon!! 3 weeks from today!! :D

awww, I'm so jealous of your Oregon trip!! I hope you have so much fun! it sounds like your mom is an amazing planner, so you will get to see it all!!

I hope you love Powell's book store! it's a great little spot if you make it there.

Vicki, I am not quite sure.. She uses Trip Advisor a TON and she just researches for months. I am not quite sure what she does but she always has everything planned out. We are never really sitting around waiting to do something. I have no idea how she does it!!

I actually totally missed this one while writing them all down so starting late is a-okay with me!

I can let you know if I get my book tomorrow or not, or if Jacque wants to wait I can do that as well; but once I get it I'll have anywhere from 3-6 weeks but no more because it's from the Link + system.

I got my book from the library today and I am SO excited to read it!!! I know I'll have it until August 15 for sure. I can check it out for another 3 weeks if no one has it on hold, but I won't know until I try to renew it.

The world building is a little sparse but not bad
I'm liking the original storyline but not sure where this is all going.....

I don't quite u see stand what's going on with Zephyr (if it's forced)
And Meadow's pretty scary lol

I'm not 100% sure what I think about this book but it's really dark.

I can't even imagine having to (view spoiler)[kill all the time just to survive, or to have to kill a competitor for a job. OMG! That was awful! (hide spoiler)]

Meadow is definitely scary! Her father is hell bent on training her well, but in their world, unfortunately, I guess that's a good thing.

Zephyr's character is likable. I mean, yeah, he is a killer but his thoughts indicate that he doesn't want to be and he doesn't enjoy it at all. I mean, can you imagine (view spoiler)[feeling guilt and seeing the faces of all the people you killed? Ugh... (hide spoiler)]

Talon is awfully young to (view spoiler)[be a mother. I did read that right, didn't I? She and Zephyr have a god-awful job of taking care of dead bodies. GROSS! I can't even BEGIN to imagine their world and death all around me all the time. (view spoiler)[

Peri (view spoiler)[is starting her training. I hope she doesn't become a killer with a cold heart. She's cute. (hide spoiler)]

I made it to chapter 10 Friday, but I haven't read anything since then. I was busy Saturday and I spent today at the beach with my family. I was going to read on the way home, but I was preoccupied with trying to get baby ticks off of my legs. There were a lot of them, too!


So far this book reminds me a little bit of Divergent in the way the world is.

I don't want to read your spoilers yet, but how do you like this one? You're far enough into it to know if your enjoyment of it is on the decline or the rise. LOL

I like it, but I don't love it. It's pretty good, it's interesting, but has a few flaws.... all in all it's good though

3 stars isn't bad. LOL I knew I was going to probably be conflicted on what to rate it just because I'm not sure how I feel about it. LOL

Meadow and Zephyr (view spoiler)[ I felt really bad for him when he tried to kill her, because he had no control over himself and he liked Meadow so I knew he would feel really guilty over it. But the one thing that I couldn't understand was that Meadow, who's trained by her father to survive, so easily trusted him after it happened. I was really expecting a different reaction from her. Peri (view spoiler)[ Meadow seems to be dangerous and now that Peri is on the other side of the perimeter, I feel like that is going to make her really unstable and even more deadly than she is now. (hide spoiler)]
