Illustrations for the original serialized publication of Bleak House are posted here: http://charlesdickenspage.com/illustr... You can click on the images to enlarge them.

Mosca | 11 comments There are more illustrations on that web page than there are in the 1930's Library hardback I'm reading.

The illustrations are extraordinary.

Thank you for the link.

WOW, awesome. Illustrations were so important to books then - especially to Dickens! - and they're so left out of modern paperbacks &c., it's wonderful to see them.

Mosca | 11 comments I think that it is mentioned that these illustrations were part of the serialized pamphlets (and their marketing) that were sold individually over the course of a year or two. Each pamphlet (or many of them) bore an illustration, I assume.

Apparently some of the published editions since that time (early 1850s) have featured some or most of these illustrations. I hope that there are published editions with all of them.

Does anyone know more--such as which editions may feature all of them?
