You’ll have until 1:30 to enter, and then we’ll randomly select a winner. Good luck!

Michele (chelessfamily) | 11 comments I have very red hair and wear glasses. My teen years were back before everyone started dying their hair red. I totally embrace my red now and rock fun eyeglasses as well.

I was self conscious about my glasses. I am legally blind without my glasses and they are as thick as coke bottle bottoms. :) But now I wear tiny lenses that are really compressed. But, really I don't mind anyway, because it kinda marks me as a reader. :)

Ohh, I'm totally jealous about the red hair. I'm just waiting for my hair to turn white. Then I'll dye it light auburn.

Shauna (brashcandicoot) I have a beauty mark on my cheek that I used to think was weird, but now I realize it makes me unique - and a little like Marilyn Monroe. ;-)

Michele (chelessfamily) | 11 comments I love how my white has come in, it makes my hair look like I've added highlights to the red. I get complements all the time. Kind of makes up for all the years of teasing as a kid.

message 8: by Leanne (new)

Leanne Cleave | 12 comments When I was younger I was really self concious of my weight. I was always under weight and looked like I hadn't eaten in months. People always used to assume that I wasn't eating properly or that I had an eating disorder when I was actually always eating I just had a really fast metabolism. To stop people asking questions I always used to wear extremely baggy clothes so no one would notice. When I left secondary school I became less bothered about my weight and started wearing normal clothes. My metabolism has now slowed down and I cant eat like I used to.

Carolyn Short | 2 comments I have red hair pale skin and freckles not so fun as a kid but as an adult I embrace the freckles.

message 10: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Holdsworth | 17 comments I am really quite tall and my growth spurt happened at a really early age so I used to get picked on a lot for it and my weight but now I'm happy with the way I am and the way I see it if some else doesn't like it it's their problem not mine.

Love it! My mom just bought cat eye glasses like Rubalia in the Blubell Kildare Series. Fun glasses are the best.

Efficiency. I optimized everything I did, in every aspect of my life. I got mocked, harassed, and taken advantage of (read: butt of practical jokes, very definitely at my expense) a lot by other kids because I didn't walk the way they did, or got all sorts of weird ideas about me because I did things differently. It took years, but by the time I hit 20 or so I was able to fake normal with fair accuracy. Of course, due to this efficiency instinct, by the time I was 25 I was making 6 figures, so it definitely has its benefits. Plus, the mocking, humiliation, and embarrassment drove me to figure out human nature, and now I understand others far better than they often understand themselves. So, double bonus, for a hard and lonely childhood.

You should have carried a bag of M&M's with you or had candy sticking out of your pockets. :) Then they wouldn't worry. haha!

Shauna (brashcandicoot) Thanks for your comments, everyone. I love hearing about people embracing their quirks and beauty. I'm going to randomly generate a winner now. Hang tight!

I'm so sorry it was rough. But you are so right that when it is, you learn a lot. I love people who walk to the beat of their own drummer. You can see that with both Blue and Maud.
