Hello readers! I love writing Christian Romances. "Something Peculiar About Austin Valentine" was specifically written for Valentine's Day. This novel is an interracial romance and it is not for the reader whose feathers are easily ruffled because of the "touchy" subject of racism, politics and romance. Be warned, the antagonist, Aunt Agatha, will insult, antagonize, and make some readers very uncomfortable. If so, then close the book and leave no review. But keep in mind, the role of an antagonist is to be a troublemaker, and she is proficient in that role. But also consider the protagonist’s role: Austin Valentine. Agatha’s acerbic words are subdued by the longsuffering, compassionate, forgiving heart of Austin. Do not mistake his kindness and tolerance as weakness, for he is anything but weak. Discipline is a strength, and kindness is a virtue necessary when confronted with dire circumstances. As for the heroine, Simone Watson, she loves both Agatha and Austin; therefore, her heart is caught in the middle of it all.
Note from the Author: Christians are not without flaws and sin. Though they try to sin less, they are not “sinless.” They will be tempted, make mistakes, succumb to temptations, say things they regret, and practice racism (sometimes unknowingly). Christians are not perfect, but they should strive to be perfect in their walk of faith.
