I wasn't sure if the cover had to show the whole tree or if some branches here and there would suffice?

yes, since it has squirrels and birds, I'd say it's a tree!

If you can see an actual tree in the "real" book, then we're going to go with the honor system here. I can't see any on the computer, but the cover is so dark that details just don't show - even when I enlarge the cover on amazon.

those are certainly clear, but I'm not going to disallow your first choice because of the limitations of the computer. If you can see the tree in the physical book, then it fits the task.
Understood but not to worry, I will save that book for another task or another challenge!

Sandy, I found a better fit for my book in post #30 - The Last of the Mohicans, so now I need to find another one for this task. I am thinking
