Tell me if you agree with me :)

Somehow, I don't picture Pendergast as that ugly.
I think it would be very doable to get Paul Bettany ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0079273/ ) to play the part. He was a more than passable albino in the DaVinci code and he has the thin look, maybe not quite tall enough though.
BTW was Pendergast even in the movie version of Relic?

I did some research online and found this:
"What about movie adaptations? We had The Relic and that’s it. Is there any movement to get these books on the screen?
That’s a very good question. Unfortunately, Pendergast is owned by Paramount Pictures. Even though he didn’t appear in The Relic, when they bought the novel, they bought the character rights. So the only one who can make a Pendergast movie is Paramount, which has had a chilling effect on any progress. The people at Paramount haven’t been paying attention. It’s a huge bureaucracy out there and most of Hollywood doesn’t read books, but until someone there says, “Oh, these books are great! Oh, we own this character?,” it won’t happen.
However, we finally have a producer who’s a really smart guy – and actually reads books – who wants to get Pendergast on the screen. He wants to make a movie of Still Life with Crows. And he’s a high-level producer and he went to Paramount and said, “If I come up with a good Pendergast project and you can be fairly compensated, will you let me have the character?” And Paramount said yes. So he’s been working on it for about a year, and we’re very hopeful.
And 20th Century Fox has had Riptide under option for ten years now. We get a check from them every year, but I don’t know what they’re doing with it. I do know they’ve already spent $3 million on script development. They were having a problem coming up with an ending. They didn’t like our ending because they thought it was too over the top. So they came with their own that I thought was even more over the top, and that’s cool, because movies are supposed to be over the top. And we said, “Hey, we’ll come up with an ending for you,” and they said, “Oh, no. There’s a rule: Never let the writers work on the script. Never.”

Any idea when DP,LC are coming up with Beyond Ice Limit?"
I honestly think that was just an "Easter Egg" or a tongue in cheek joke. I don't think they are going to write Beyond The Ice Limit. Maybe Smithback will though

According to what they have to say, they are running
short of time to come up with beyond Ice Limit but
I think they will give into fans demands.

given the right hair color and attitude, he could be the mysterious and brilliant aloysius we're all fascinated with.

Kate, I like Cary Elwes very much, but I'm still a Johnny Depp Gal. However, Vincent D'Onofrio would be spot on for Vinnie. What a great choice. In my opinion, Vincent D'Onofrio is very underrated and he has that great tough cop look. I've been wracking my brain about who could possibly play Wren, Nora Kelly and Procter. Any ideas about these three?

Just off the top of my head, Jason stathem (spelling?)??? I think he was in the transporter movie. He can play strong, silent & menacing without going over the top. Remember, Proctor isn't some subservient butler, at the end of one of the books (forget which one & don't have time to check) he drives off in a Hummer with a machine gun, hoping Diogenes would come after him. He also served with Pendergast in the military if I remember correctly.
I'll think on it more later.

That would be a little bit more time in the makeup room. :-)

Andrea, not bad.... Hmmm, I've been a Johnny Depp gal for quite a while now, but those two would be great. Handsome, debonair, etc., etc., etc. I'd like to see Liam Neeson as Proctor and who do you think could play Constance (and WREN?)? I'm interested in your opinions.

I think Keira Knightley would be a good Constance or Emily Blunt (Young Victoria) and Gwyneth Paltrow as Wren.
What do you think?

Anyway, Wren, with a worldly look or stoic one. Maybe Sigourney Weaver or Juliette Binoche.
Yes, books definitely rule. I hope your having a nice weekend.
