Hey everyone!

I'm working hard on part two of the Evan Burl series and would love to know what you most want to read in the second book. Which story lines do you want me to focus on? What characters do you love most? Which characters could you live without? Anything goes! Your input will make a big difference.

Thanks for sharing!

Amanda (toxic_romance) | 4 comments >_< I haven't read the first book yet.

Pick up a free copy on amazon - It's free through Sunday - would love to know what you think :)

Amanda (toxic_romance) | 4 comments Will do.

Linda | 1 comments Hey!

Just finished the first book. I really enjoyed it. Don't want to give too much out, but really would like more focus on Anastasia, what will happen to Henri and Cevo and his children.

Can't wait for the second book :)

Linda, I would love that too! She was so fun to write. I'm afraid it's going to be hard to keep up the tension with Anastasia without it getting old, but hopefully I'm up for the challenge.

Sally Hannoush | 5 comments I also think the tension may be hard to keep with Anastasia. I feel like I want to smack her at this point, but it is also well done with the insanity. Did their father mistake Evan as becoming the monster instead of Anastasia? Do all his children have that within themselves? I still am unsure if Cevo is a good guy or bad guy??? Maybe more background on him. I found it hard to figure out what was real and a dream as well. I felt just as confused as the characters and it's not so much a bad thing because it keeps me guessing what is going on. I would like to see more develope with Henri and Evan. I also want to know if Claire will play a bigger role in the next book. I'm not sure if I helped at all or if I just rambled.. :)

:) some of those questions I can't answer (partly because I'm not sure yet, mostly because I don't want to spoil it.) I really like to hear that you're not sure about Cevo. I have a philosophy that every bad guy doesn't think of themselves as a bad guy--that's not real life. Most people who are bad, don't think of themselves that way. They have a way of justifying their actions. They usually think they're on the good side. Claire will definitely be featured more prominently though, and I'm sure Ani will be worked in. She's too much fun to leave out

Brenda (brendareads) I want more answers about Hagnus! We know very little about her and how she ended up with Cevo. I agree about Claire. I feel like she's not living up to her potential, so I'm guessing she's got a bigger role to play later on.

Can't tell you much without spoilers, but I'd love to know, what do you mean by Claire's not living up to her potential?

Brenda (brendareads) She was introduced and it seemed like she would have a big role, but when it came down to it she really didn't do anything. She fell from the sky and then was passed out most of the time then her sister wreaked havoc while she cowered. Maybe she is the one with the strength to stop her sister or something? But as of now she is a side character, she hasn't done anything to warrant the title of a main character yet

That's what I thought. I can say without spoiling anything that Claire will definitely be playing a bigger role in the future books. I only had room in the first one to set her up, but she has some big things in her future :)

Sarah Oxford (sarahloxford) | 3 comments Well being a bit of a romance addict I would love that to be developed a little more.
I also really liked Claire. She seemed to have such a sweet nature and I too would like to see her have the strength to take on her frankly terrifying sister!
I'd like to know more about Ballard too, I couldn't quite figure him out. Was he simply deep down a good guy who just did what he was told for food/money, or does he maybe understand more than he let on?
Oh and really, what's with the spider?!

Brenda (brendareads) ^ agreed about Ballard!

haha. Is it terrible to admit that I'm not quite sure about him either... someone had better get on that :)

Brenda (brendareads) It's okay, we understand it's a process. ;) haha

Amanda (toxic_romance) | 4 comments I'd like to see a little on the back story on how the uncle became such an ass, and why does his family believe he is turning into a monster. Also, I'd love to see what is going through Henri's mind.

Hmmm.... I think I can safely say yes to all of those requests Amanda, IE, I want those things in the next book too. At least that's the plan. Sometimes these things take on a life of their own, at least when they're good they do.

In one of my first drafts, Claire, Evan and, Henri were pretty equal in the story (kinda like Harry Potter and crew). In fact, in that draft, Henri was Henry and she was a guy. If I remember right, the romance was between Claire and Evan, of course she was older. Anyways, all that to say, Claire is really important to me and I can't wait to tell more of her story.

Amanda (toxic_romance) | 4 comments And kill the other sister off. Haha!

message 21: by Lisa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Lisa | 5 comments I like Claire and hope she won't be killed off. Terisma, on the other hand...although a peer antagonist works. Not just Mazol & Yesler.
Ballard is somewhat of a mystery and I think he could become a help for Evan or even be related to him or "assigned" to help him?
Hagnus - I haven't quite figured her out - on Evan's side or not.
I am almost finished reading this draft and am really enjoying it as much as the first version.

thanks for the feedback, and glad you're enjoying it Lisa!

Lisa | 5 comments We haven't heard the last of Terisma have we? It seems all of the "grown-ups" are gone. It will be interesting to see how the next generation copes.

Cynthia, et al, Can't wait to share with you what I'm working on. It's going to be a really unique twist, at least in terms of what you usually find in book two of a series. Originally, I had quite a bit more of the story told in the first book, but I had to split it up into 2-3 books so I could add more detail and develop the characters more.

And Lisa, yes, Terisma will definitely be rearing her head again.

message 25: by Lisa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Lisa | 5 comments We need Terisma for an antagonist. I don't like her either but to enjoy the good you need evil to overcome.

Justin Blaney (justinblaney) | 34 comments Mod
I have a soft spot for Terisma. She's so much fun to write! But, Cynthia brings up a great point. An alternative would be to invent some issue for her to deal with, which of course I'd have to do or she would get weary. It's hard giving people a ton of power, but then always making sure that they don't have too much and it becomes a noncontest. I'll have to give that some thought.... Thanks for the interchange!

Brenda (brendareads) Agreed, Justin AND Cynthia. I like her character a lot, she's so much fun to hate. She can't really be brought down by a conscience, so that can't be a weakness for her. I hope she sticks around, but something's got to make her more vulnerable.

message 28: by Justin (new)

Justin Blaney (justinblaney) | 34 comments Mod
I had to think about it, but I actually have some notes on her concerning weaknesses. Her's is a mental illness which, like the others, can make her fearful of what is real and what's not. I don't want to give too much away, but there are some very cool things in store for little innocent Terisma. Wwaaw aah ahh. Rubs hands together maniacally. Very cool indeed.

Lisa | 5 comments Maybe Evan will be the one to discover Terisma's achilles heel?
