Any updates on the third installment?

Not yet, no. He did mention on his twitter he was working on the last chapter, but didn't mention whether that was for Republic of Thieves of something else.

However, he is going to the UK for World Fantasy Con this October/November, then back again for Worldcon next year in August/September, so I wouldn't be surprised if the book was released late this year, if he's revving up international tours.

Hope it is...I can't wait to see what happens..such a great author.

yes very excited for the third book. Now i heard that this series is like a prequel and he intends on following this with a series with the same characters. not sure how true

So excited! :) Loved, loved the books. I am reading Brent Weeks' books - they have thieves/assassins, but NOTHING like Locke & Jean!

Ha Kathy i am reading "Mistborn" but even there scenes dont come close to Locke & Jean. Cant wait for new book!

It has been officially announced by Gollancz and Scott himself has verified it, so yes, this is the real date! :D

Fellow Bastards, in anticipation of the October release of Republic of Thieves (Lynch put it on his blog, it's at the publisher, and on it's way), I splurged with my tax refund and bought the audio books (1 and 2) on ITunes. Book one is absolutely satisfying, unabridged and lovely so far. (Locke just got nailed into the barrel of horse piss (as the Gray King)). The reader does all the voices and I perhaps could argue said voices be slightly different than my imagination, but they are mostly perfectly fine.

Since I spent a near fortune for those audio versions, I would like to offer to TRY to zip/copy/upload/email something and share them with my fellow Bastards, in the hope we can all be truly updated and in the mood for the new release.

I know, it's too far away! And I've only just read the books - I may have become a teeny bit obsessed by them. Talk about a book hangover, I can't read anything else!

I absolutely feel you! I've read them some five times now, since 2009 when I first found them – and looking at reading number 6 starting next weekend, when a read-along starts on tumblr! :D

IT Just Might be Time to Restart the Series! Take it back to Lies of Locke and right into RedShip folled by Repub. Only Problem with that is time. Could just Pick it up from Red Ship then Republic. What do you think is that wrong? Is everybody doing a Reread from beginning? Opinions Requested!!!!
