Based on reviews I've seen thus far a number of people were disappointed in various ways with this book. I also had some issues and questions.

I'm probably the only one who is not on Team Rush Crush. He talked a good game but his actions did not stand up to the words. And Blaire just kept forgiving him. Ugh!

Maybe I'm not alone?

Michele I loved it..it was a quick read and loved the characters and the the flow of the story..

Jennie I liked it. But I agree with bkgurl Rush is a jerk. And the relationship between his sister and him is beyond me......... I wouldn't put up with no phone call

Warpedmind I still Loved the book but I agree with you about Rush. I thought Blaire forgave a little too much for my taste. How do you yell at the woman you love and just leave her standing there without making sure she is safely in the house. Hello...she is pregnant with your child!! I put that same thing in my review online.

I could chalk up the other incidents to misunderstandings (kinda), but that last incident put me over the edge!! They had just gotten engaged and she was pregnant with his kid. When Blaire had to walk to Bethy's place because she didnt have keys or a phone, I was fuming, lol. Then he didnt call for a week to check on her? There's no way I would have been there when he returned. And if I were, Rush would have had to do some EPIC groveling!

But I'm not a pregnant 19 yr old girl with barely any family and no money of my own, so I had to take that into account.

Warpedmind BkGurl wrote: "Mary wrote: "I still Loved the book but I agree with you about Rush. I thought Blaire forgave a little too much for my taste. How do you yell at the woman you love and just leave her standing there..."

I would have been gone too... Like you said I was crying when she walked to Bethy's place and he didn't call for a week. I would have asked Woods to help me escape this hell and moved on with my life. Rush would had to get a PI to find me but that would have been book 3. (LOL)

Beverly I agree that Rush was a bit too harsh when he yelled at Blaire to get out of his car, but to be honest...his sister is unconscious and she was in a serious accident. If it were any of my siblings I'd be just as frantic to get to them and see how they were. Blaire just stayed in the car and was like "Can I go?" and then he told her that she needed to go into the house. Then she stayed and it's then that he got frustrated and yelled at her to get out. It was harsh, yes, but he was also concerned for his sister and Blaire was just sitting like a lame duck in his car.

Also, you can't blame Rush entirely for Blaire walking to Bethy's place. She could have called anyone to come get her and it was her pride that stopped her from doing so. I was angry with Blaire in this part because, yes, walking three miles, alone, at night is very dangerous and she should have called someone to come pick her up.

I was disappointed because Rush and Blaire have such a superficial relationship. Rush saying "these are mine!" when referring to Blaire's girl parts? Really?? That's just disgusting. Then Blaire is so dependent on everyone and it seems like she can't do anything on her own. She can throw tantrums and run off, but she never proved she could do things on her own. Woods gave her a job, after Bethy and Rush secured it for her; Rush paid for her apartment; he bought her clothes, furniture, food; Cain tried to fix her car; and the only thing she really has to deal with are her emotions. There was no depth, really, to me because they were always either having sex or getting jealous and then getting into arguments and then groveling.

Shirl I was SOOOO disappointed in Never too far!! I loved Fallen too Far and was eagerly anticipating this book, I finally got my grubby hands on it last night and finished it all in one sitting. But it fell so short of the first book! What happened to Blaire, in Fallen too far she was such a strong independent woman, in this book she just seemed like a clingy needy girl. Rush was being a insensitive jerk and everytime she got upset, once he touched her, they'd have sex and the issues were never discussed or resolved. And she forgave him anything, just because he said he was so sorry and he loved her!! I wanted the old Blaire back, so so disappointing!

Warpedmind Beverly wrote: "I agree that Rush was a bit too harsh when he yelled at Blaire to get out of his car, but to be honest...his sister is unconscious and she was in a serious accident. If it were any of my siblings I..."

It sounds like you are more disappointed in Blaire than Rush. I am too for the reason; I thought Blaire was too passive in this book when it came to Rush. She is only 19 yrs old pregnant with no family and every man in her life has let her down. Her father walking out, Cain not sticking by her in time of need(cheating and etc), Rush holding secrets about HER life. Woods was the only person that actually helped by telling her she would always have a job. (meaning she was good at her job)Now, the other stuff as in paying for her condo, she paid what they told her to pay. She didn't know until she moved out that it was paid for a year by Rush. The bedroom set(First off what furniture store deliveries same day??...don't get me started on that)Rush was trying to make up to Blaire and his baby by buying that crap. But yelling at her to get out of the car when all she was trying to do is be there for him in his time of need. If something happen to my siblings, I would be frantic too but I know that the person with me is pregnant and I don't want anything to happen to them either. So waiting until the garage door is open or seeing her go safely in the house before leaving. I know he was feeling guilty about his sister but damn he can still pick up the phone and tell Blaire that. Tell her something don't just leave her worrying if she even has a life with you or not. I do wish she had a back bone like in the first book and just leave. How many times does he after to let her down before she leaves?

Warpemind, I agree with you somewhat; we have 3 furniture stores in the Houston area that deliver same day, I've personally seen their trucks riding around town well after 11:00 at night, so thats possible. At first I was disappointed and frustrated with Blair when she kept ignoring Rush after she got back to town and he was doing everything he could to get her back and her not just coming clean and telling him about the pregnancy. Then when she finally blurts it out he tries to do everything in his power to make her life easier even going as far as telling both his mother and sister to get lost (basically). He ignored their calls for days if not weeks while he played house with Blair so he kinda got a half 'get out of jail card' when he didn't want Blair to go with him to the hospital not knowing what condition he would find his sister, mind you the only real family he felt he had all those years. But it was totally inexcusable for him to just drive away leaving her standing on the curb, and it was such a dickass move not to call her for a week because of his weak guilt ridden pride. But where would she have gone, she had very little money, no car, no family was pregnant and only 19 in a town that was not where she grew up. For 7 days the only contact she appeared to have had was with Woods, he did as much for her as she would let him but honestly do we think that he would have continued to support her knowing that she was carrying another man's baby the man she chose over him when he was trying to snare her and let's not forget that she was in love with this cat, when you're 19 pregnant and believe you're in love with the baby's daddy who by the way happens to be pretty well off, you have no where else to go no real money to speak of on your own would you have honestly left and if you which way would you have headed? Maybe in Book 5 we'll get some of those answers looks like Woods will get his story told in Book 3 and Grant's in Book 4 so we'll have to wait and see!!!!

CynthiaElleReads Really not as good as the first one this just seemed like an episode of teen mom. I want the old rush and blair back.

Norma Totally Loved the second book just as much as the first one I hate it made me cry though. And the ending was too cute not to love.

Beverly Warpedmind wrote: "Beverly wrote: "I agree that Rush was a bit too harsh when he yelled at Blaire to get out of his car, but to be honest...his sister is unconscious and she was in a serious accident. If it were any ..."

Yeah, I am definitely more disappointed in Blaire than in Rush. In the first book, Blaire was a gun-wielding, independent woman whose actions showed that she was capable of succeeding on her own, but in this one she just became so dependent on Rush and all her friends and not only that, but she was made out to be so frail and weak.

Her father walking out and Cain not sticking by her were also issues in the first book and they didn't make her dependent. Rush kept that secret from her and I would understand distrust for him, but she just took him back so easily and once she did, he did everything for her.

I agree that maybe he should have waited until she got in, but if Nan was his entire life up until a couple of months before then I can understand how he wouldn't be in the right state of mind at that moment. That's not an excuse, but it is an explanation. And I don't know what was up with not calling her for a week. I know he feels guilty, but I don't know what that had to do with not calling.

I don't think they're right for each other. Or maybe they are, but their relationship just doesn't seem like a good one.

Kelly I was quite disappointed with this book, I loved fallen and I just didn't get the same feeling reading this one. I found Blaire to be a bit of a moaner.

Itsmebacshi to be honest I'd choose Woods over Rush. Woods is a friend/man you rarely find

Itsmebacshi wrote: "to be honest I'd choose Woods over Rush. Woods is a friend/man you rarely find"

Agreed! Sadly, most 19 yr olds, like Blaire, are too immature still to see it! Woods is the man you wish you had gone with when you're older and grown up lol

Itsmebacshi BkGurl wrote: "Agreed! Sadly, most 19 yr olds like Blaire are too immature still to see it! Woods is the man yo..."

LOL Totally.. just hoping Abbi Glines will lift rush character/personality on 3rd book

Mellie I like to know when Rush told Blair about Nan asking permission to be part of her nephew or niece life. Did Rush tell Nan about Abe not being her real dad yet? confused.

Lacey I am sooo glad that there are some people who agree that Rush is a complete jerk. After reading countless reviews about how great he is, I just want to scream. How could he be so awesome when he is such an ass, for the many reasons mentioned above? He claimed Blaire was his most important priority then completely leaves her with nothing: no keys, no car, no communciation, no phone call, no anything! For over a week! He missess doctor appointments for his unborn child (just forgets them or doesn't care enough), and people still sing his praises. UGH!!! Ruins the book for me.

Mallory ~*Smut Pusher*~ So glad I'm not the only one thinking the same thing! After Rush left Blair to go attend to his bitch ass sister, smoke was coming out of my ears! If I was Blair, I would NOT have stayed at his house wondering when/if he's going to call. Wish she would have been stronger. Saying she was his priority sure didn't look like it after reading that scene. Guess it makes for good drama.

Lisa In my short review I said Never Too Far didn't go far enough. I hope Abbi takes her time with the third book to flesh it out instead of having it done quick fast to appease her fans. I would rather wait for a polished copy rather than a quick write-up.

Bev I am disappointed, this did not live up to expectations at all. Not Abbi Glines finest work. It seems rushed and really didn't cover much more than say adding a couple of chapters to the first book wouldn't have covered.

And yes, I agree Rush is a jerk. He was as childish as the hateful Nan towards the end, me no likey :(

That's exactly how I felt - I think the author got a little too stoked about Fallen Too Far's success and wanted to ride the wave of it so she rushed Never Too Far. It was so apparent how hastily it was written, not well laid out or thought out and certainly not true to character (Rush keeps saying he's going to put Blaire first but when did he ever in the book - I didn't expect it to end before he'd proven that he actually would at least once!).

Itsmebacshi @Mallory @Lacey - high five for that LOL

Bonnie Wanted more out of this book, felt like it ended to soon.....hope the next book has a story about Woods :)

zara -in my opinion, the first book was better. I felt that there was a lot more heart and depth in that one. I loved blaire, she was such a headstrong girl despite everything that happened to her, I even admired her a little. in this one, everything went down the drain. Blair suddenly became a needy girl who just depended on her friends. maybe it was the pregnancy hormones but I missed the strong, gun wielding girl that we were introduced to before

it did indeed feel like an episode of teen mom. so much melodrama and the insecure Blaire really got on my nerves sometimes.

I wished that sometimes Rush and Blaire would sit down and talk, but everytime they got together, they just had sex. it seemed to me that their relationship was just sex and nothing else.

like someone above said, it was pretty disturbing how rush thought it was necessary to keep reminding blaire that she was HIS. I really liked it when he got jealous of other men that flirted with Blair but that got old pretty fast too.

like I previously said, the first book had a lot more depth, it was such an amazing book, but this one didn't have strong plot. it just felt a little rushed and sloppy.

Same here. I was hoping for much more in NTF but really, nothing much actually happened. I'm glad she's writing a third book and I hope it has a lot more going on that NTF.

message 28: by zara (new) - rated it 3 stars

zara I thought that Rush and Blaire's relationship didn't develop at all. instead of talking about their problems, they acted like a bunch of horny kids trying to get it on 24/7. I love steamy love scenes as much as the next person but I just wished they would just cuddle and talk. The conflict in NFT felt like it was forced, I loved the twist at the end of FTF, abbli glines could of done more with it but instead she chose to turn it a weak storyline.

Rebecca I must admit Im disapointed by the book..........

Blaire.....UGH!!!! She drove me up the bloody wall, needy, clingy over all pathetict.

Ive had to put the book down a few times and walk away from it from sheer frustration.

Im looking forward to the story about Woods, I like that hes ballsy, and a bit more bad ass than rush.

i was dying for the book to come and when it did i all but wanted to through it out the window. i was that muvh disappointed.
not what i wexpected. this was so not the Blair in the first book. hell i didn't even know it was the same Rush.

Virginia Lacey wrote: "I am sooo glad that there are some people who agree that Rush is a complete jerk. After reading countless reviews about how great he is, I just want to scream. How could he be so awesome when he is..."

I couldn't agree more! I hated Rush and Blaire in this book! All the promises Rush made to Blaire were empty. He was all words and no actions. When the time came he chose nan, again!!! He didn't call for a week!!! Not even a text!!! If nan hadn't woken up does that mean he would have gone on without talking to Blaire? I hate that Blaire just forgave him, she didn't even call him on it. Ugh! Blaire was terrible. She had such low self esteem.

Lindsey I was totally Team Woods. He's the complete package and proved himself a lot more than Rush. I can't wait for his book!

Rebecca Lindsey wrote: "I was totally Team Woods. He's the complete package and proved himself a lot more than Rush. I can't wait for his book!"

couldnt agree more, I cringe at the thought of rush!

+1

Natascha Housen I loved this book, I was more Team Rush in Fallen too Far but in Never to Far, Woods was definitely the better person. I can't wait for the follow up (Book 3)

Cindy I loved it, but it ended so fast, i would have liked alittle more on Rush and Blaire

Araseli I loved this book...we all have to remember what we were like when we were pregnant...we were hormonal and many more things!! I'll excuse Blaire from her behavior because of her state. I wasn't too impressed with Rush and his behavior either, but he did manage to come to her and in my eyes...he's all good. I'm still team Rush!! Over all I was ok with the book, I did feel that there was some issues left out like what happened to Blair's dad after he confused the truth to her? Did he leave or did he stay to be part to the baby? And Rush's mother...what happened with her? I think that there should be some sort repercution for her lies...she did major damage! And Nan...how did she react to the news of her real father and how does she feel towards Blaire. Many things left to the unknown....I just hope that Book 3 can tie all of these issues and get a better picture for us readers.

Yes I read Twisted perfection and it was great, but there is a continuation to another book coming out in the fall. i like woods, but Rush makes my heart pitter patter..lol

I can't wait to read there next book, hopefully it ends well.

Rebecca I loved loved loved this book can't wait for more

Roxanna Cross I loved the book (though I could have done without the many miss-edits). Rush is Rush and he did what we readers expected him to do - go apeshit and choose in the moment. If he did anything else it would have been out of character for him, like almost to the point where his action would have been unbelievable. On the flip side Blaire did what she we expected her too - cry, get nervous, self-conscious and return to only person she knows won't disappoint her - herself. Anything different would once again been too out of character for her. However, I think sometimes a drastic situation can bring about a drastic change and maybe Abbi could have introduced such a change at this point and surprise us all with a new Rush and Blaire that work together in crisis…

I think that Rush did right. He could have been more gentle towards Blaire,of course (but where's the fun in that?)I believe Miss Abbi Glines wanted to keep some drama in the book.I fairly enjoyed it.

Hiyas Palanca well I think the reaction of Rush to her sister can be much understood if you have a tight family relationship...cause seriously who will put up with Nan BS, only a family can do that to you and considering her condition at that time...but then again, Blaire's reaction to Rush gave a realistic reaction of a woman who was put 2nd to an immediate family member's situation...all in all i still love Rush Finlay...

message 48: by Megan (last edited Apr 21, 2014 09:52AM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Megan I agree with what a few people said. Rush should have been by her side during every appointment. He left her stranded for NAN of all people! I understand being there for your sister, but what about being there for your child? He left Blaire without a car at work, anything could have happened to her or the baby during that time. UGH! Still loved the book though.

message 49: by Nur (new) - added it

Nur I liked the book but like everyone else I'm kind of disappointed in Rush and Blaire. Everyone is talking about how Blaire forgave Rush too quickly after he came back from Nan's bedside but I was annoyed at how easily she went back to him at the very beginning even though she said she wanted to keep some space and figure things out. I wouldn't constitute having sex with him on the second day of her being back as keeping some space. Back to Rush missing the appointment, I was beginning to turn to Team Woods. I know Nan is his sister and he loves her after all the stupid things she does but come on, this is his unborn child we're talking about and your children always come first, even before your siblings. I know that sounds heartless but I stand by my opinion,

Alondra Megan wrote: "I agree with what a few people said. Rush should have been by her side during every appointment. He left her stranded for NAN of all people! I understand being there for your sister, but what about..."

I like the book a lot. All three books actually and I can totally agree with you about the Rush and Nan thing. I was honestly pissed off during those parts because he made the promise that he wasnt going to leave her for anything and he kept doing it. But after I feel like he man up alittle.
